Disability Hub information

What is a Disability Hub?

A Disability Hub is a central resource or organization that provides information, support, and services to people with disabilities, their families, and carers. These hubs often offer guidance on accessing health care, employment, education, and community participation. Disability Hubs can also connect individuals with government programs, local services, and advocacy groups to help them navigate their unique needs and rights. They may operate online, over the phone, or from physical locations to ensure accessibility for everyone.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Disability Hub coordinator?

To thrive as a Disability Hub Coordinator, you need a background in social services or disability support, knowledge of relevant legislation, and experience working with people with disabilities. Familiarity with case management software, assistive technology, and compliance reporting tools is typically required. Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills are essential for building trust and advocating effectively for clients. These competencies are critical for ensuring individuals receive the right support and resources to improve their quality of life.

How does a role at a Disability Hub typically collaborate with other professionals and community organizations?

Working at a Disability Hub often involves close collaboration with a diverse range of professionals, such as social workers, therapists, educators, and healthcare providers, to offer holistic support to clients. Team members regularly coordinate care plans, share updates, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings to ensure services are tailored to each individual's needs. Additionally, Disability Hub staff frequently partner with external community organizations to connect clients with relevant resources, programs, or advocacy services. This collaborative approach helps ensure comprehensive and effective support for people with disabilities.

Meet Hub International
Hi, we're HUB. We are proud to be one of the largest insurance brokers in the nation, advising businesses and individuals on how to prepare for the unexpected. At HUB we believe in investing in the future of our employees. Our entrepreneurial culture fosters an environment of open feedback and improvement that empowers our people to make the best decisions for our clients and organization.
About the Team
The Carrier Team includes Associates and Service Analysts who collaborate to support our insurance carriers and brokers. They review incoming documentation, route it to the right place, research questions, and provide helpful assistance by email and phone so the correct accounting teams have what they need.
About The Role
As a Carrier Team Associate, you will become knowledgeable in the carriers or functions you support. You will review incoming materials, research questions across several systems, and provide clear, helpful information to carriers and internal partners. If you enjoy research, delivering great service, and working collaboratively with others, this role is a strong fit.
What you'll do
  • Support a defined set of carriers by obtaining needed statements and documentation so incoming payments can be applied by the appropriate accounting teams.
  • Review and vet incoming carrier documents and route or redirect them to the correct internal teams.
  • Research questions using several internal systems and follow up to gather missing information.
  • Provide helpful and professional service by responding to carrier and broker inquiries through email and phone.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge about your assigned carriers, including payment timing, requirements, and account nuances.
  • Keep records organized and updated in broker management systems.
  • Partner with colleagues to support shared goals and adapt to shifting priorities.

What you bring to our team
  • Experience in a service or support-focused field such as banking, finance, insurance support, collections, customer service, or administrative operations.
  • Comfort communicating with carriers and brokers by email and phone in a helpful, professional way.
  • Ability to research information across multiple systems and summarize details clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistent, organized work habits.
  • Comfort balancing several tasks while maintaining accuracy.
  • A collaborative and positive approach to working with others.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with related coursework or training considered a plus.

What's in it for you?
  • A leadership team focused on caring for and developing our team
  • Competitive compensation
  • Customizable flexible benefits & 401K matching program
  • Generous PTO package - vacation, holiday, sick, and personal time off
  • Growth potential - HUB is constantly growing and so can your career!
  • Ongoing personal and professional development opportunities
  • Comprehensive wellness programs
