Job description

** This posting is for one (1) full-time temporary position for up to twelve (12) months **

The Edmonton Police Service is seeking a highly organized and competent individual to provide support to the Disability Management Team. Responsibilities will include:

  • Adjudicate and manage non-complex short term disability claims. 
  • Managing WCB medical aid incidents, including coordinating modified duties as required and escalating to a Disability Management Consultant if becomes time loss. 
  • Expedite referrals to the OSI clinic and treatment providers to avoid lost time claims.  
  • Adjudicate and maintain maternity claims. 
  • Annual monitoring and review of permeant accommodations or members remaining on benefits though WCB/LTD until retirement age.
  • Administrative duties including phone calls to clarify and request additional information, assist with complex inquiries, be the superuser and resource for CORITY for the DM team as well as coverage for the Disability Management Clerk when away.
Qualifications
  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects with emphasis on general office practices or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college; and a minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible and diversified office experience including a minimum of two year's experience in the supervision of a moderate to large clerical support unit OR Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects with emphasis on subjects related to the area of specialization or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business college/school and a minimum of five (5) year's progressively responsible experience in the area of specialization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people and offer a high degree of customer service.
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills required.
  • Experience using PeopleSoft, CARM, Cority and WCB Portal would be an asset. 
  • Strong computer skills - ability to learn, administrate and manage other databases. 
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. 
  • Proven high level of discretion in dealing with highly confidential information.

Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week, Monday - Friday.  Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hour of work program.
Salary Range: 21M, Salary Grade: 036, $36.31 - $45.61 (Hourly); $2,451.10 - $3,078.70 (Bi-Weekly); $63,972.67 - $80,8355.18 (Annually).
