Facility Type: Nursing home / long-term care setting

Contract Duration: 24 Months (with potential renewal based on contract award and facility needs)
Schedule: As Needed (Not a fixed full-time onsite schedule)
Compensation: $185-$225 per hour (depending on experience, credentials, availability, and final contract approval)

Pay Structure: Contract hourly compensation for approved Medical Director services. Since this is an as-needed role and not a guaranteed full-time schedule, total monthly compensation may vary based on actual hours needed and final service expectations.

After-Hours Requirement: Telephone availability may be required as part of the overall coverage model, but physical onsite reporting is not required after-hours, weekends, or holidays

Job Summary

This is for a Medical Directors and Physicians contract role supporting a nursing home in Collins, Jackson, Oxford, and Kosciusko, Mississippi.

The expected contract duration is 24 months, with a possible renewal option depending on contract award and facility needs.

The Medical Director role is not structured as a full-time daily, on-site position. The schedule is as needed. The Medical Director would provide medical oversight, clinical leadership, regulatory support, resident-care oversight, quality assurance involvement, policy/procedure support, and coordination with the treating Physician, NP/PA, nursing staff, and facility administration.

The Medical Director would most likely need to come on-site during normal weekday daytime hours when Medical Director involvement is required for items such as:

  • New admissions or readmissions requiring medical oversight

  • Complex resident-care issues or significant clinical changes

  • Regulatory, compliance, survey, QA/QI, or policy matters

  • Care-plan review, medication/treatment review, lab-result review, discharge planning, or resident evaluations

  • Facility meetings, staff training, or clinical leadership support

  • Escalation support for the treating Physician, NP/PA, nursing staff, or facility administration

After-hours, weekends, and holidays do not require the provider to physically report to the facility. If physical attendance is requested, the onsite arrival window is during daytime hours, between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Experience Preferred: Long-term care, nursing home, geriatric care, medical director, internal medicine, family medicine, or similar clinical leadership experience
Licensure/Documentation: Candidate must be able to provide a current Mississippi professional license, resume/CV, board certification or board eligibility, and documentation of long-term care or nursing-home experience.

Please brief candidates that this is a contract Medical Director opportunity with an anticipated 24-month contract term, and that the role is primarily as-needed Medical Director oversight rather than a full-time direct hire or fixed daily onsite position.
