ASSISTANT ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Report to and follow directives of the Athletic Director and work under the direction of the high school principal to aid in supervising the overall athletic program.
  • Be appropriate role model for student-athletes, parents, families, Speedway High School staff, opponents, and community.
  • Foster initiative, self-discipline, teamwork, leadership, and the commitment to excellence to Speedway High School athletes.
  • Promote the current accomplishments and past successes of Speedway High School Athletics.
  • Administer all school district interscholastic policies and procedures as well as the rules and by-laws of the IHSAA and the conference.
  • Observe coaches sufficiently to assist Athletic Director in making future recommendations in terms of job expectations and assignments
  • Assume leadership role in the orientation and in-service training of coaching personnel.
  • Work cooperatively and develop rapport with, administration, coaching staff, teachers, parents, and community.
  • Assist in public relations and program awareness within our community and state.
  • Assist in the organization and scheduling of athletic events.
  • Secure event workers and staff for efficient execution of events.
  • Assist in development of coaches' handbook.
  • Assist with sports awards programs.
  • Assist in contracting officials as assigned by the Athletic Director for home events.
  • Assist is arranging transportation for away contests.
  • Help in updating and maintaining the athletic web site.
  • Foster good school-parent relations by maintaining communications relative to rules and regulations on athletics.
  • Establish and enforce the physical, academic and training requirements of eligibility for participation.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the Principal/Athletic Director

PAY: $10,500.00 Stipend
