JOB SUMMARY
CrossCountry Freight Solutions - a leading LTL trucking company is seeking a dynamic Operations Supervisor to join our team of logistics professionals. As an Operations Supervisor, you'll play a pivotal leadership role in our daily operations, directly influencing our success by guiding our drivers and freight handlers, ensuring efficient loading/unloading of freight, and upholding company policies to maintain a positive work culture. JOB TITLE:Operations Supervisor
DEPARTMENT:Operations
JOB STATUS: Exempt
SHIFT: Monday-Friday - 12am start
SALARY RANGE: $75,000-$85,000/year Depends on Experience, Knowledge of the Transportation Industry
REPORTS TO:Service Center Manager
DIRECT REPORTS:No
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Ensure that dock operations are performed safely and efficiently, overseeing and assisting with the loading and unloading of freight
Supervise drivers, oversee the hiring, training, scheduling, and disciplinary actions
Conducts weekly and/or daily meetings with shift personnel to discuss updates and address any issues
Coordinate with personnel to maintain and repair company vehicles
Monitors misrouted and damaged shipments to determine root cause and implement corrective action.
Work with customers to resolve freight issues
Responsible for overseeing the quality handling of paperwork
Able to carry out the job duties of positions supervised to ensure customer service expectations are met
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Two years supervisory and transportation experience
Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication (written and verbal), analytical, and decision-making skills
Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry
Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations preferred
At least 21 years of age
