Director, Merchandising (Women's)

Jockey is seeking a Director, Merchandising (Women's) to join our team!

Job Summary: The Director of Merchandising (Women's) is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Jockey's end-to-end merchandising strategy to maximize sales, profitability, and inventory efficiency across all channels. This role will drive a customer-centric approach to product assortment and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Design, Planning, and Marketing.

Job Expectations:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of the overarching merchandising strategy, product assortment, and financial plan roadmaps that align with Jockey's brand identity and long-term goals.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and consumer insights to identify new opportunities and inform strategic product selection and pricing decisions.
  • Set seasonal and annual financial targets for sales, margin, and inventory turnover, and ensure the team is tracking towards these objectives.
  • Lead the pre-season, in-season, and post-season analysis to drive continuous improvement in merchandising effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop detailed purchase plans, budgets, and optimal inventory levels to support demand.
  • Actively participate in vendor and supplier management, including the review of contracts, terms, and pricing, while maintaining strong partnerships.
  • Partner with internal teams to develop promotional strategies, product launches, and compelling in-store and online product presentations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Serve as the key cross-functional leader for Women's Merchandising, partnering internally with Design, Product Development, Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless execution of product strategy.
  • Present key business updates and strategies to the leadership team on a regular basis.
  • Accountable for tracing and maintaining product line productivity to the SKU level.
  • Manage key Merchandising GTM calendars and schedule of key dates.
  • Ensure all products and components are aligned with global brand strategy standards.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Merchandising, Buying, or Category Management, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role at a corporate level.
  • Exceptional analytical and financial acumen.
  • Deep understanding of marketing and consumer, proficient at transforming insights into action.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute complex, high-impact merchandising strategies.
  • Outstanding negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team.
  • Proficiency with merchandising planning software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
