Job Description

The Global Capital Solutions team focuses on liabilities sourcing and financing, as well as asset sourcing and strategic counterparty relationships across the Ares platform.

Ares is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Senior Associate to join the Structured Products Surveillance Team focusing on U.S. private credit. The Surveillance Team is part of the Ares' Global Capital Solutions team, a centralized platform function focused on securing favorable financing terms and execution across the firm.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the ongoing monitoring and management of private credit CLO portfolios, supporting transaction surveillance, compliance testing, portfolio analytics, investor reporting and strategic risk management activities.

Primary functions and essential responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor underlying private credit portfolios across multiple CLO transactions which may include preparing regular portfolio surveillance reports for various Portfolio Managers

  • Reconciliation of monthly Trustee reports and quarterly payment date reports and review for accuracy and completeness

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies across reporting sources and transaction data

  • Monitor overcollateralization (OC) tests, concentration limitations, collateral quality tests and other structural requirements

  • Support new CLO issuances, refinancings, resets and amendment exercises

  • Assist with data requests related to CLOs for both internal portfolio management and external investors

  • Coordinate with legal counsel, trustees, fund accounting, operations and rating agencies on a regular basis

  • Support projects related to the strengthening of the global CLO platform which may include reporting enhancements, compliance workflows and automation initiatives

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Information Systems or related field

Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in Private Credit, Direct Lending, CLO Surveillance, Structured Credit, Portfolio Management or related field

General Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of CLO mechanics and documentation, including ratings and credit estimates

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication capabilities

  • Team-orientated mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$110,000.00 - $160,000.00
