Job description

About GAINSGAINS is on a mission to make supply chains smarter, faster, and self-improving, powered by AI. Our Decision Engineering & Orchestration (DEO) platform does not just support decisions, it drives them by aligning strategy, planning, and execution across every level of the supply chain. We serve inventory-intensive industries where the stakes are high and the complexity is real, helping customers move from reactive, spreadsheet-driven planning to continuously learning, AI-led operations that deliver measurable results fast. At GAINS, we call it Moving Forward Faster, and it is not a tagline, it is how we are redefining what is possible in supply chain decision-making.SummaryAs a Project Manager, Supply Chain Design, you will lead the day-to-day execution of supply chain optimization projects for our clients. You will build the model structure in Supply Chain Architect, translate client network and historical data into model inputs, and manage the project from kickoff through delivery. This role requires hands-on supply chain project experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate outputs and cost/benefit impacts directly to client leadership.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership
  • Lead and manage supply chain optimization projects from initiation to completion, ensuring on-time delivery and alignment with client expectations.
  • Own the day-to-day project plan, milestones, risks, and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to keep workstreams on schedule and dependencies visible.
Model Building in Supply Chain Architect
  • Build and maintain the model structure in Supply Chain Architect for each engagement.
  • Translate client network and historical data into validated model inputs.
  • Run scenarios and simulations across network design, inventory, and distribution strategies.
  • Test model assumptions with the client and document how inputs map to outputs.
Data Analysis
  • Analyze existing supply chain processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Validate data quality and resolve gaps or inconsistencies in client-provided data sets.
  • Quantify cost and service impacts of proposed changes.
Supply Chain Mapping
  • Work with clients to understand their existing supply chain structure.
  • Develop supply chain maps that identify key touchpoints and potential bottlenecks.
Client Collaboration
  • Work directly with clients as the primary day-to-day project contact.
  • Communicate recommendations, model outputs, and cost/benefit impacts to client leadership.
  • Explain complex modeling concepts clearly to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Build strong client relationships and manage expectations throughout the engagement.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Prepare reports documenting analysis, recommendations, and implementation plans.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and accessible project documentation.
  • Deliver status updates and readouts on a consistent cadence.
Continuous Improvement
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in supply chain design.
  • Contribute to the improvement of project methodologies, tools, and delivery processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Approximately 5 years of hands-on supply chain project experience, including running supply chain optimization projects.
  • Proficiency with supply chain modeling tools, simulation software, and data analytics.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting to leadership.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when required.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with supply chain software and technology solutions.
  • Experience building network optimization or simulation models in a commercial modeling tool.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices in supply chain design.
  • Certification in supply chain management, logistics, or project management (for example, CSCMP, APICS, PMP).
  • Consulting or client-facing delivery experience across diverse industries.
