Summary:
The Shop Floor Planner is responsible for coordinating production floor operations to ensure smooth material flow, schedule completion, and effective communication between Assembly Lines and Line Supply. This role requires strong organizational skills, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to maintaining operational excellence on the production floor.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate between Assembly Lines and Line Supply to ensure all materials are present and available to complete the production schedule
  • Track production backlog and make data-driven recommendations to Scheduling to disposition orders accordingly
  • Maintain each assembly line's supply bays to ensure only needed and approved product is present, eliminating overflow material
  • Communicate any capacity constraints on production lines to ensure schedule completion and provide proactive mitigation plans
  • Track and communicate all repairs on the production lines to maintain visibility and minimize downtime
  • Monitor material availability and escalate shortages or delays that may impact production goals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Scheduling, Line Supply, Maintenance, and Production Supervision
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize material flow and production efficiency

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, production planning, or materials coordination
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems and basic computer applications (Excel, email, production software)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and make quick, effective decisions
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and levels of the organization

Additional Qualifications, preferred:
  • Associate degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or related field
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems
  • Knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes
  • Previous experience in a production planning or scheduling role

Work Environment:
This position is located in an active industrial manufacturing and distribution center with moderate to high noise levels, temperature variations, and material handling equipment in operation. The role may require extended periods of standing or walking on concrete floors and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and steel-toed boots. The fast-paced environment involves time-sensitive and safety sensitive operations and may include various shift schedules to support production and distribution needs.
Pay:
$16.85- $20.22
