The Role
Wood is currently seeking for a Senior Subsea Commissioning Engineer to join our team in our office in Houston, Texas. This role will report directly to the Subsea Commissioning Lead. The Senior SS Commissioning Engineer will be responsible to manage the subsea Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) pre-commissioning scope and to lead day to day execution of the EPCI progress.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities
  • Review pre-commissioning philosophies, and procedures as developed by installation contractor and pre-commissioning subcontractor (as required)
  • Assign responsibilities and work packages to the junior SS Commissioning Engineer
  • Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, HIRA and offshore scope technical progression is required
  • Carry out site visits for either fabrication or pre-commissioning activities
  • Engages with appropriate stakeholders for safe and efficient execution of workscopes
  • Identifies critical spares/consumables or components that are required to execute the applicable campaign.
  • Manages the subsea commissioning systemization schedule and prioritization of the work, in conformance with the System handover requirements
  • Responsible to lead and develop 20K Tree, Subsea Pump Station, and/or Subsea Pump Module system of knowledge
  • Responsible for confirming the project integrated plan includes all subsea requirements, aligned with Construction, Commissioning and Start-up (CCSU) and with the start-up requirements/targets.
  • In conjunction with the bp Paleogene Subsea Commissioning Lead, manages the project interface (i.e., Engineering, Subsea Construction, CCSU, Operations Quality resources).

Expected:
  • Engineering degree from an accredited university
  • Certifications necessary for offshore
  • Subsea construction, installation and/or pre-commissioning
  • Subsea equipment design, fabrication or testing
  • EPCI, Vendor, or contractor management
  • Direct personnel supervision or management
  • Preferred familiarity with subsea systems, including but not limited to:
    • Subsea Pumping, such as barrier fluid and MV cable testing
    • 20K Subsea Trees
    • TFMC and / or OSS Controls Systems
