Position Summary

The Connections Director creates an environment where guests feel welcomed, volunteers thrive, and people take meaningful next steps in their relationship with Jesus and City Hope Church. This role provides leadership for Guest Services and Small Groups by overseeing volunteer development, guest experience, discipleship pathways, and group systems. The Connections Director recruits, equips, coaches, and develops leaders while ensuring every person has a clear pathway to connect, belong, grow spiritually, and become an active part of the CityHope family.

Primary Responsibilities

Volunteer Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, onboard, equip, and develop Guest Services volunteers and leaders.
  • Recruit, equip, and develop Small Group Leaders
  • Maintain healthy relationships with volunteers and leaders

Small Groups & Discipleship

  • Lead the strategy, systems, and leadership development of the Small Groups ministry.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and develop Lane Coordinators.

Weekend Guest Experience

  • Provide leadership for all Guest Services ministry areas during weekend services.
  • Maintain weekly communication with Guest Services Coordinators regarding schedules, needs, and upcoming weekends.
  • Implement volunteer policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Conduct Sunday startup procedures, including preparation of Guest Services environments, Team Lounge, Welcome to CityHope, and other assigned areas.
  • Recruit, plan, and execute Guest Services support for special events.

Operations & Administration

  • Oversee Planning Center for Guest Services, including volunteer additions, removals, scheduling, and service plans.
  • Manage the Guest Services budget.
  • Report volunteer additions, removals, engagement metrics, and Small Group participation through the Campus Dashboard.
  • Oversee systems that support guest follow-up, volunteer engagement, and group connections.
