Position Summary:

The Associate Director, Strategic Engagement for the Southeast Region will support Orencia (abatacept)andSOTYKTU (deucravacitinib)by elevating BMS as a leader within Immunology with Rheumatology KOLs and thought leaders, National Organized Rheumatology Networks, Infusion Management Companies, Centers of Excellence, and large independent group practices.

This position is structured around two distinct areas of focus: leading compliant KOL engagement strategy and marketing insights events with national thought leaders, speakers, and advocacy groups for SOTYKTU (deucravacitinib); and developing integrated stakeholder engagement within targeted key accounts to support Orencia (abatacept) account management and contract pull-through.

The individual will partner cross-functionally with Sales, Medical, Marketing, Market Access, Contracting, and other internal stakeholders to understand market dynamics, identify appropriate collaboration opportunities, and support healthcare providers in improving patient outcomes.

This high-impact, field-based role supports growth across two Immunology brands and reports directly to the Director of Strategic Engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with Rheumatology KOLs, thought leaders, and Centers of Excellence across the Southeast region and nationally.

  • Lead congress planning and execution, including coordination of thought leader and C-suite interactions with medical, home office, and other colleagues as appropriate.

  • Manage and advise the speakers bureau, training and execution to ensure alignment with BMS brand and portfolio priorities.

  • Support commercial advisory board development by providing field-based insights and identifying appropriate KOL participation.

  • Call on C-suites within supergroups and key national accounts to manage rebate contracts, conduct quarterly business reviews, and pull-through of GPO contracts.

  • Engage with advocacy groups to understand market changes and challenges.

  • Conduct thought leader engagements to uncover actionable insights, identify regional trends, and gather competitive intelligence

  • Capture and communicate actionable market insights from field interactions to inform commercial and medical strategy, including brand positioning, regional trends, and competitive dynamics.

  • Assess business opportunities and priorities by evaluating regional healthcare trends and their impact on account strategy.

  • Maintain close, ongoing alignment withField Sales, Field Medical, Marketing, Market Access, Patient Access, Account Executives, and Policyto ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BS/BA degree required.

  • Minimum of 8 years of pharmaceutical experience with previous thought leader liaison or regional/national account management experience.

  • Recent rheumatology experience with working knowledge of super groups, key thoughtleaders and/or centers of excellence is strongly preferred.

  • Prior people management experience preferred.

  • Proven leadership skills and ability to network across complex internal and external environments.

  • Biologics/buy and bill and/or specialty medications experience preferred.

  • Demonstrates critical thinking and strong decision-making skills

  • Excellent social, communication (oral and written) and presentation skills required.

  • Ability to navigate complex accounts and engage with a range of stakeholders.

  • Ability for up to 60% travel including overnights is required.

  • A valid driver's license within the 50 United States is required.

Compensation Overview:

Field - United States - US: $169,090 - $204,898 Tampa - FL - US: $169,090 - $204,898

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Paid Time Off

  • Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt, Non-Exempt, Hourly Employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays

Based on eligibility*, additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.

All global employees full and part-time who are actively employed at and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible to take advantage of the Global Shutdown.

*Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.
