Optum Financial, as one of UHG’s five Growth Pillars, continues to present significant opportunities within the enterprise, in existing markets, and for developing products and markets that do not yet exist.Optum Wallet is a next-generation strategic initiative focused on transforming how consumers pay for healthcare by unifying healthcare funds, modern payment capabilities, and embedded financial experiences across the care journey. As the business moves from strategy to launch, there is a need for solid generalist support to help execute across multiple workstreams and maintain momentum.

The Associate Director, Optum Wallet – Business Operations & GTM Support will serve as a key member of the Optum Wallet team, supporting the GM and Start-Up Lead in driving execution across go-to-market, partnerships, and business operations. This role will work across Product, Payments, Strategy, and Distribution teams to support pilot launches, partner engagement, and day-to-day business operations.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support execution of Optum Wallet’s go-to-market efforts, including pilot launches with providers and partners
  • Coordinate across cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Payments, Legal, Sales) to ensure alignment and progress
  • Support onboarding and day-to-day management of pilot partners, including tracking key issues and follow-ups
  • Assist in development of materials to support distribution strategy and partner engagement
  • Conduct analyses and research to support business decisions, GTM strategy, and market understanding
  • Help track and manage key business metrics, deliverables, and milestones
  • Prepare executive-ready materials and documentation to support internal alignment and decision-making
  • Identify and elevate risks or blockers to ensure timely resolution and continued progress
  • Provide generalist support across evolving business needs as Optum Wallet scales

Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in consulting, corporate strategy, business operations, product strategy, healthcare, fintech, payments, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience leading or supporting cross-functional initiatives involving 3 or more business functions (e.g., Product, Operations, Technology, Finance, Commercial)
  • 3+ years of experience managing projects, programs, or strategic initiatives with demonstrated delivery against established milestones, timelines, and business objectives
  • 2+ years of experience conducting quantitative analysis, business case development, financial modeling, KPI reporting, or operational performance measurement
  • 2+ years of experience supporting go-to-market initiatives, partnership programs, channel strategies, or partner-enabled business models
  • Experience utilizing data to develop recommendations and influence business, operational, product, or commercial decisions
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., financial modeling, scenario analysis, pivot tables, dashboards) and PowerPoint (e.g., executive-level presentations and business reviews)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in healthcare services, health plans, provider organizations, healthcare technology, or regulated healthcare environments
  • 1+ years of experience supporting product management, business transformation, operational excellence, or enterprise strategy functions
  • Experience supporting initiatives that delivered measurable business outcomes such as revenue growth, cost savings, process improvements, or customer adoption
  • Knowledge of Optum, UnitedHealthcare, or the broader U.S. healthcare ecosystem
  • Experience developing executive communications, strategic recommendations, or materials for senior leadership review

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $112,700 to $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
