Job description

Come put your technology and leadership skills to work in an organization that is improving the lives of more than 15,000 people of all faiths and backgrounds, in a newly created role which reports directly to the CEO.
The Director of Technology Strategy & Operations will blend strategic leadership and innovation with hands-on work, while partnering with leaders across JF&CS. Your goal will be to design, implement and support technology solutions that enhance staff productivity, improve program operations, and ensure effective use of data.
One key component of this role is to oversee, develop and evolve the agency's enterprise-wide case management system that is built on the Salesforce platform, and that both supports our operations and enables us to measure our impact. This tool is foundational to 200 users across the agency, who rely on its data, reports, dashboards, add-ons and integrations.
The Director will also leverage AI and other tools to enhance automation, decision-making, and service delivery across JF&CS, and will deliver technology training to encourage our staff's technical acumen and effectiveness. They'll oversee our IT manager and our MSP, who are responsible for our IT infrastructure, user support, and security. And they'll manage vendor relationships and create and enforce policies to ensure that our technology is secure, compliant, and reliable.
The Director will engage in hands-on system design and development while also managing a team of 5, including an IT Manager, a Help Desk Technician, two Salesforce Administrators, and our Manager of Evaluation & Impact.
Beyond the technology leadership role, the Director will participate in broad-based executive-level planning on a wide range of strategic and operational issues.
This is a full‑time position with a hybrid schedule, requiring a minimum of 3 to 4 days per week of in‑person work.

Qualifications and Skills:
We are seeking an experienced technology leader who combines strategic thinking with practical execution.The ideal candidate will bring strong partnership skills, hands-on resourcefulness, and the ability to translate between technical possibilities and the real-world demands of service delivery. Ideal qualifications include:
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible technology leadership experience
  • A track record of working closely with non-technical stakeholders to design and deliver practical, usable solutions
  • Experience evaluating, implementing and managing enterprise-wide systems,; Salesforce experience is preferred
  • Insight, experience, and resourcefulness in using technical tools and AI to meet organizational needs and manage data
  • Ability to oversee internal IT infrastructure and MSP
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and developing staff skills and motivation
  • Skilled at budget management, vendor management, and financial decision-making
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and align disparate teams toward shared goals
  • Ability to interact at an executive level with vendors, board members, and other external stakeholders
  • A genuine commitment to JF&CS's human services mission
