Store Manager

Location:Madison, WI
Pay:$24-26 per hour
Job Type:Full-time
Schedule:40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

About the Role

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community.We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Store Manager to lead one of our Salvation Army stores. This role is crucial in supporting our mission through efficient store operations, staff management, and community engagement. You'll be responsible for overseeing all store operations, including staff supervision, sales performance, store maintenance, customer service, banking, and record keeping, while ensuring that all functions support our mission of serving those in need in our community.

What You'll Do

Leadership & Staff Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise storestaff
  • Manage scheduling and payrollprocessing
  • Implement company policies and practices in employeerelations

Store Operations

  • Develop and implement strategies to meet production and salesgoals
  • Oversee donation processes, product sorting, pricing, andpresentation
  • Manage store maintenance, safety, andappearance
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and Salvation Army safetypolicies

Customer Experience

  • Create an enjoyable shoppingenvironment
  • Develop customer retentionplans
  • Set an example for positive customerinteractions

Financial Management

  • Oversee cash handling procedures and dailydeposits
  • Work within budget parameters
  • Manage inventory tracking for designated productlines

Communication & Reporting

  • Maintain open communication with Regional Manager and Department Heads
  • Provide daily reports on store production andsales
  • Address customer complaints and provide education about theprogram

Supervisory Responsibility

  • In conjunction with the Regional Manager, recruit, interview and recommend for hire Storestaff
  • Train and supervise the storestaff
  • In collaboration with the Regional Manager, provide direct reports witha personnelreview
  • Review and approve time and attendance for store personnel using the current payrollsystem
  • Check time logs regularly, following all current regulations andtrainings
