The Director of Ticket Operations is a dual-purpose leadership role managing all ticketing mechanics, inventory control, and box office logistics for Robert Morris Universityโ€™s five NCAA Division I ticketed sports (Football, Men's Basketball, Women\'s Basketball, Men\'s Hockey, and Women\'s Hockey) alongside third-party entertainment hosted at the UPMC Events Center. This position serves as the technical architect behind the ticketing software, acting as the primary financial liaison for national concert promoters, the RMU Athletic Business Office, and the RMU Student-Athlete Compliance Office.

  • Manage the structural lifecycle of an on-sale, including programming multi-tiered pre-sale windows, setting timed automatic price increases, routing restricted access links to priority groups, and launching unique promotional tracking codes.
  • Build, test, and manage all season, single-game, group, and tournament ticket manifests across two primary venues (Joe Walton Stadium and the UPMC Events Center).
  • Program dynamic seating charts, varying configurations (end-stage concerts, 360-degree events, hockey rink layouts, and basketball court setups), and complex physical manifests.
  • Serve as the primary system super-user and administrator for enterprise ticketing systems and mobile access hardware.
  • Oversee digital-first mobile entry operations, scanning logistics, and line-management systems at all major public gates.
  • Function as the on-site box office authority for external touring artists, family shows, and corporate rentals at the UPMC Events Center.
  • Generate accurate daily audits, sales wraps, and final night-of-show split settlements directly with external tour managers and national promoters.
  • Safeguard internal ticketing controls, ensuring full PCI data security compliance across all physical walk-up registers and online payment gateways.
  • Enforce absolute compliance with NCAA Division I regulations regarding complimentary tickets, managing digital gate pass-lists for student-athlete families, coaching recruits, and athletic VIPs.
  • Coordinate complex ticket consignments and financial reconciliations for postseason tournament play and visiting conference opponents.
  • Execute priority seating upgrades, donor-tier point system allocations, and student section distribution models.
  • Utilize data analytics to evaluate attendance trends, purchase behaviors, and secondary market velocity to continuously optimize ticket inventory and suggest dynamic pricing shifts.
  • Collaborate directly with athletic marketing and sales teams to build seamless pre-sale schedules, group ticket initiatives, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Mastery of industry-standard enterprise ticket distribution networks (e.g., Ticketmaster TM1/Archtics or Paciolan) is required. Familiarity with collegiate compliance tracking engines (e.g., ARMS) is highly preferred.
  • This is an event-driven position requiring non-traditional work hours. Mandatory availability includes evenings, weekends, and holidays dictated by the RMU home athletic calendar and the UPMC Events Center booking schedule.
