Job description

Position Summary

Directs the overall planning and scheduling of Special Projects, significantly contributing to the achievement of company, division, and project objectives and ensuring maximum operating results.

Position Details

  • Implements project management processes, policies, and procedures within the company policy.
  • Provides inputs on constructability, cost, scheduling and other key aspects during the development and execution phases of each project.
  • Reviews performance against operating plans and standards. Offers feedback to subordinates, identifies areas of concern, and approves operational changes, when necessary.
  • Assists in establishing short-term and long-range group goals, maintaining alignment with overall company objectives.
  • Ensures the duties, responsibilities, authority and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood. Builds and maintains a cohesive operational unit.
  • Troubleshoots project-specific issues and challenges. Coordinates and confers with staff to resolve key operating problems.
  • Maintains expert knowledge on construction management activities, best practices and developing issues within the industry.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with other departments to fulfill responsibilities and shares best practices with other operating groups and peers.
  • Maintains a positive financial posture for operational groups and monitor cost analysis activities on a routine basis.
  • Identifies staff training needs and recommends career development path.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent education, training and/or experience.
  • 15 years of experience in mechanical construction operations, including 5 years of industrial and specialty construction experience
  • Advanced knowledge of company operations and philosophy
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to successfully establish, achieve and align company, division, and project goals
