Working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and other site teams, the supervisor develops team capability, resolves laboratory challenges, and promotes a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping ensure every product meets the quality standards our customers, and their patients, depend on.

This position primarily supports evening-shift operations and requires flexibility to work outside normal business hours based on operational needs.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop Quality Control Analysts, creating an environment where employees feel supported, accountable, and empowered to perform their best.

  • Assign and prioritize daily work to meet testing timelines, manufacturing needs, and departmental objectives.

  • Monitor team performance, productivity, and compliance, providing timely feedback, recognition, training, and performance management as appropriate.

  • Ensure employees are properly trained and that required training is documented before independently performing assigned work.

  • Provide technical guidance on laboratory procedures, SOPs, specifications, protocols, controlled forms, investigations, and applicable manufacturing documentation.

Laboratory Operations and Technical Oversight

  • Oversee and, when needed, perform routine and non-routine analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished APIs, stability samples, and special projects.

  • Review analytical data and documentation to ensure results are accurate, complete, timely, and scientifically sound.

  • Apply strong knowledge of chromatography, including HPLC, UPLC, and GC, as well as other common analytical techniques and instrumentation.

  • Coordinate multiple testing priorities and projects to support established schedules, deadlines, and business needs.

  • Support the maintenance, calibration, qualification, and validation of laboratory instruments and equipment.

  • Provide technical expertise in the evaluation and interpretation of analytical results and laboratory issues.

Quality, Compliance, and Investigations

  • Ensure laboratory activities are performed in accordance with cGMP requirements, approved procedures, data integrity expectations, and applicable company and regulatory standards.

  • Lead or support investigations involving out-of-specification results, deviations, laboratory events, change controls, and CAPAs, ensuring conclusions are scientifically justified and actions are completed on time.

  • Author, review, and revise Quality Control SOPs, test methods, protocols, and other controlled documents.

  • Identify compliance or performance risks, take appropriate action, and escalate significant concerns when necessary.

  • Support audit and inspection readiness by maintaining accurate documentation, compliant laboratory practices, and a well-prepared team.

Safety and Collaboration

  • Promote a safe laboratory environment and ensure compliance with the Chemical Hygiene Plan and all applicable safety procedures.

  • Communicate laboratory results, priorities, risks, and plans clearly and effectively to employees, leadership, cross-functional partners, and customers when appropriate.

  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Maintenance, and other teams to resolve issues, support production schedules, and improve operational performance.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to strengthen laboratory efficiency, quality, safety, and team effectiveness.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Good Manufacturing & Documentation Practices

Quality is something we take pride in together. You'll perform your work in alignment with cGMP requirements and Curia's standards, which means:

  • Perform all documentation in compliance with ALCOA++ principles and site SOPs.

  • Adhere to applicable cGMP documents including SOPs, batch records, protocols, change controls, and controlled forms.

  • Strong working knowledge of cGMP requirements, applicable FDA regulations, and compendial standards such as USP and EP.

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret analytical data, troubleshoot laboratory issues, and apply sound scientific judgment.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple activities while meeting changing operational needs and deadlines.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information clearly and listen effectively.

  • Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and ability to use team resources effectively to achieve results.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other laboratory or quality systems required for the role.
