This role owns engineering execution, delivery discipline, and team performance across IntelliSPEC’s SaaS platform.

You are expected to bring deep technical fluency in modern web and SaaS architectures, particularly the MERN stack (MongoDB, React, Node.js), while operating primarily as a leader rather than an individual contributor. You are a senior leader within IntelliSPEC’s Product and Technology organization, working closely with the Chief Architect, DevSecOps Lead, SDET Manager, and Product Management. You lead multiple engineering teams responsible for frontend, backend, and platform delivery, while enabling managers and senior engineers to execute independently.

What We’re Looking For – Required
  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 5+ years in engineering leadership roles
  • Proven experience leading multiple software engineering teams delivering SaaS applications
  • Strong technical depth in MERN-stack technologies including React, Node.js, and MongoDB
  • Ability to review architecture, designs, and code for quality, scalability, and risk
  • Demonstrated experience operating in Agile or SAFe environments with predictable delivery outcomes
  • Strong people leadership skills including coaching engineering managers and senior engineers
  • Ability to balance delivery speed, technical quality, and long-term platform health
  • Excellent communication skills with experience presenting execution status, risks, and trade-offs to senior leadership
What We’re Looking For – Preferred
  • Experience delivering large-scale, multi-tenant SaaS platforms
  • Experience working with AI-enabled or data-intensive systems
  • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and DevOps practices
  • Experience scaling engineering organizations and defining career ladders
Key Responsibilities
  • Own execution and delivery of IntelliSPEC’s SaaS platform across frontend and backend teams
  • Serve as a hands-on technical leader in architecture reviews, design decisions, and delivery trade-offs
  • Ensure consistent engineering standards across React applications, Node.js services, and MongoDB data layers
  • Partner with the Chief Architect to ensure architectural intent is executed correctly
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps and SDET leadership to ensure security, quality, and reliability are built into delivery
  • Coach engineering managers and senior engineers on technical decision-making and execution discipline
  • Establish and track engineering metrics for delivery predictability, quality, and team health
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tooling, and execution rigor
