These skills are vital for driving innovation, ensuring technical excellence, and fostering a high-performing engineering culture in a fast-paced startup environment.

Job description

Modern software runs on open source - and managing the compliance, security, and regulatory complexity that comes with it is one of the biggest problems facing engineering and legal teams today. FOSSA is the platform they use to address these challenges. We help thousands of organizations automate license compliance, prioritize vulnerabilities, generate and operationalize SBOMs, and meet regulatory requirements. Whether it's scanning AI-generated code for IP risks or helping a company through M&A due diligence, FOSSA gives teams the confidence to ship software they trust.

FOSSA is a rapidly growing series-B company with a truly distributed team. While our roots are in San Francisco, our growing team has members in several countries across many time zones. We're always working to find the perfect balance of effective approaches to distributed work, while maintaining the direct personal connections that help us work better together and love our jobs.

Your Mission:

We are looking to hire a strategic, customer-focused, and results-driven Sales Engineer who can come in to support the growth in our enterprise market. This is a chance to help shape the strategic growth of a true game-changer with a highly differentiated product!

  • Support our Enterprise Account Executives by carrying out product demos and building business value cases with clients.
  • Manage complex sales engagements with touch points in Legal, Engineering, and Security.
  • Lead and execute on RFPs, RFIs, POCs and Demos
  • Think outside the box, and lead strategic initiatives to improve the customer experience with FOSSA.
  • Articulate and evangelize FOSSA with end users, top industry partners, and key thought leaders.
  • Engage new and existing accounts to identify and build relationships with champions and decision makers.
  • Help build and be a part of an awesome culture.
About you:
  • 3-5 years Sales Engineering experience selling software to Enterprise customers.
  • Experience selling software solutions to Director and C-level executives.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as code repositories, CI/CD tools, package managers (e.g. GitHub, Artifactory, Jenkins, Travis, Maven).
  • Familiar with bash scripting or programming languages.
  • Willingness to travel onsite to visit customers for Sales engagements and conduct POCs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • History of creating developer-facing content.
  • A start-up mentality - this is both an exciting and challenging opportunity!
Why you'll love working at FOSSA:
  • Competitive Base Salary plus commission structure and stock options
  • Comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, 401k) and flexible PTO
  • Opportunity to have an outsized impact on the success of a startup
  • Amazing team culture and environment
  • Named by Built In as Best Start-up to work for 2026, 2025, 2024 and Forbes 2022
