Our work depends on strong partnerships with foundations, corporations, civic organizations, and government funders who share our commitment to keeping kids safe and families supported. Development AssociateReporting to the Director of Individual Giving and Impact, the Development Associate is a full-time position that supports the organization's fundraising, donor stewardship, special events, corporate donors, and development operations. The Development Associate plays an integral role in advancing Kids In Crisis' mission by helping cultivate meaningful relationships with donors, volunteers, corporate partners, and community members.The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative nonprofit environment. This individual is a self-starter and very comfortable managing multiple priorities, communicates effectively both verbally and in writing, and is passionate about the mission of Kids In Crisis. ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Director of Individual Giving, and in collaboration with the Development team, the Development Associate will provide administrative and operational support for Kids In Crisis' fundraising efforts.Individual Giving SupportPrepare development correspondence. Support the execution of direct mail appeals, donor invitations, and other annual fundraising mailings. Assist with donor cultivation activities and stewardship events. Assist in maintaining accurate donor records and gift information in the donor database. Assist in thanking donors for donations by phone call or email. Provide administrative support.Help coordinate entry-level and small-level donors. Corporate and Community Giving SupportSupport corporate partnerships by coordinating employee volunteer projects, sponsorship fulfillment, workplace giving, and matching gift programs. Assist with donor and prospect research as requested. Coordinate communications and materials for corporate partners. Events SupportProvide administrative support for fundraising events, including: Assist with attendee entries, reporting, seating arrangements and other event needs in the Events SoftwareDraft committee agendas, minutes and email correspondence Assist with marketing materials, sponsorship outreach, auction support, and other event logistics. Help coordinate and manage volunteers for eventsDevelopment Department SupportProvide administrative support for community breakfasts, Holiday Central, Annual Meeting, Community Summits, and other cultivation and agency events. Maintain a coordinated calendar of all development mailings, fundraising events, and external engagements involving development staffSchedule and organize internal and external meetings for the Development Department, including agenda preparation, room booking/Teams meeting, and follow-up Qualifications & AttributesBachelor's degree preferred.One to three years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, membership services, communications, or marketing experience.Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be comfortable making phone calls.Excellent organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor database software (experience with CRM systems such as Salsa, Raiser's Edge NXT, Salesforce, or similar is a plus).Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners.Demonstrated interest in philanthropy and nonprofit organizations.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Professional Communication and CollaborationServe as a role model for professional, respectful, and effective communication in all interactions.
