Job description

SMS group Inc. is seeking a Shared Service Manager to oversee core transactional finance functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury support, employee expense processing, and corporate credit card administration.

The role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely invoice processing, vendor payments, customer billing, collections, cash application, banking transactions, and compliance with payment terms. The Shared Service Manager will also manage vendor relationships, support financial instruments such as ACH payments, wires, letters of credit, performance bonds, and hedging transactions, and serve as a key liaison between finance and other departments.

The position provides leadership and guidance to accounting staff, resolves processing issues, and manages up to eight direct reports. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, at least five years of progressive accounting experience, knowledge of banking systems and processes, and strong Microsoft Office—particularly Excel—skills. SAP experience is preferred.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
  • Five plus of progressive accounting experience
  • Understanding of banking systems, services, and processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
  • Experience with SAP is preferre

What you'll do:

  • Manage accounts payable in respect to accuracy in invoice processing, vendor payments, and vendor management; ensure timely, accurate payments and compliance with terms
  • Assist in processing banking transactions such as ACH & wire payments, executing letters of credit, performance bonds, hedging transactions and similar instruments
  • Supervise accounts receivable with billing, collections, credit management, and cash application
  • Oversee employee expense report and corporate credit card program processing
  • Serve as liaison between AP/AR/treasury and other departments, providing service and resolving issues
  • Provides guidance and direction to the accounting staff to help resolve processing issues
  • Manages up to 8 direct reports
  • Other duties assigned
