About the Team

The Solution Portfolio Excellence team serves as the front door for upstream strategic lines of business within the Global Customer Operations Enablement (GCOE) team. We focus on the products, solutions, and go-to-market shifts that enable high performance for our field-facing workmates across the entire customer lifecycle.
Our team is evolving how we deliver enablement through an AI-powered predictable model. In this model, we distribute intelligence and insights through a combination of self-service tools and digital learning interventions, so that the right knowledge reaches the right role at the point of need. If you are energized by connecting product strategy to field readiness and shaping the way knowledge flows across a global organization, this is the team for you.

About the Role

As Director of Solution Portfolio Excellence, you will lead the team behind the enablement foundation for our most strategic launches, monetization shifts, and industry go-to-market motions. You'll set the strategy, operating model, and quality bar for turning upstream product and GTM priorities into scalable, AI-ready field enablement.

You will own the portfolio view, shaping what the field needs to learn and when. You will partner with GCOE peers to determine the right modality (content, digital learning, live delivery, etc.) when enablement needs go beyond materials. You'll lead a team of Solution Portfolio Leads and program owners, run the operating cadence with Product, Marketing, and cross-GCO partners, and be accountable for launch readiness, adoption, and field impact. The role requires operating as both a strategic thought partner to senior leaders and an operational anchor for a global enablement engine.

You will:

  • Set the multi-quarter strategy and roadmap for the team, aligned to product, industry, and GTM priorities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Solution Portfolio Leads

  • Own the operating rhythm and governance keeping Product, Marketing, Sales, Solution Consulting, Customer Success, Services, Support, and Partner Enablement aligned on launches and strategy shifts

  • Serve as the executive front door for strategic intake - curating, prioritizing, and sequencing new offerings for downstream delivery

  • Maintain a single prioritized view of the enablement portfolio, making trade-off calls when competing launches and events vie for field attention

  • Partner with enablement peers to identify when a launch needs modalities beyond content, and drive those needs through the enablement supply chain

  • Set the standard for a consistent enablement content Bill of Materials, ensuring every launch lands with global consistency and scale

  • Drive AI readiness strategy for the portfolio, structuring assets so AI companions can retrieve and deliver accurate responses

  • Establish measurement standards for field readiness, content quality, and AI output confidence, using that data to guide investment decisions

  • Represent the team and portfolio in executive forums across GCO, Customer Experience, and Product with clear, executive-ready communication

About You

Basic Qualifications (required)

  • 10+ years in enablement, go-to-market strategy, content strategy, or related field, aligning business strategy with execution at scale

  • 5+ years of people leadership experience, including managing senior ICs

Other Qualifications

  • Strategic Thinking:Translates upstream product and GTM strategy into scalable enablement plans that drive impact for field-facing teams

  • Executive Communication:Operates credibly in senior forums, distilling complex, multi-workstream detail into clear narratives and recommendations

  • People Leadership:Track record building, developing, and retaining high-performing teams; sets clear expectations and manages performance fairly

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Partners effectively with product, marketing, sales, and post-sales leadership to drive consistent outcomes

  • Content and Portfolio Strategy:Skilled in planning and managing a large enablement portfolio, organizing for scale, and measuring content effectiveness

  • Operational Discipline:Strong record establishing governance, cadences, and measurement standards that scale beyond a single program

  • Bias for Action:Makes quick, well-judged decisions with incomplete information to accelerate timelines

  • Experience owning a portfolio of programs (not just individual launches) across a matrixed, global organization

  • Experience bringing new offerings, M&As, and product lifecycle shifts to market through field enablement

  • Deep understanding of the end-to-end software customer lifecycle

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides) for data visualization and reporting

  • Familiarity with AI-powered enablement and adoption frameworks

  • Familiarity with Workday products and solutions

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we're combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Workday is an Equal Opportunity Employer including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.

Workday is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals during our application process, in order to perform one or more essential functions of their job, as well as regarding the use of AI tools for employment decision-making to any degree.
