Director of Nursing (DON) - RN Weakley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center | Long-Term Care | Skilled Nursing

Weakley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and results-driven Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) with strong leadership experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, post-acute care, and senior healthcare who is passionate about delivering exceptional resident care and developing high-performing clinical teams.

As the Director of Nursing, you will oversee the daily operations of the nursing department, ensure regulatory compliance, promote clinical excellence, and partner with the Administrator to drive quality outcomes, staff engagement, resident satisfaction, and operational success.

Director of Nursing Responsibilities
  • Direct, coordinate, and manage all nursing services within the skilled nursing facility
  • Lead and support Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and nursing leadership staff
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing long-term care and skilled nursing facilities
  • Monitor and improve clinical quality measures, infection prevention initiatives, survey readiness, and resident outcomes
  • Develop, implement, and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, department leaders, residents, and family members to ensure excellent care delivery
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, train, and retain nursing team members
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Oversee care planning, documentation, clinical programs, risk management, and regulatory compliance
  • Promote a positive culture focused on teamwork, accountability, compassion, and resident-centered care
Qualifications
  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Director of Nursing (DON) or Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting
  • Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, state survey processes, infection control, quality measures, and long-term care operations
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, coaching, and team-building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to implement clinical programs, policies, and procedures that support quality resident care
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
