Job description

Shape the Next Generation of Pharmacy Robotics

Omnicell is seeking a senior technical leader to define and deliver the future of our Robotics & Automation portfolio. This is a Chief Engineer-style role responsible for driving innovation across next-generation pharmacy automation platforms, transforming ideas into scalable products that improve medication management and patient care.

This role is ideal for a hands‑on engineering leader who combines deep technical expertise with the ability to align teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver complex hardware-software systems from concept through commercialization.

What You'll OwnTechnical Leadership & Direction
  • Serve as the technical authority for Omnicell's Robotics & Automation portfolio
  • Define technical strategy, architecture, and engineering direction across multiple programs
  • Guide critical design decisions, resolve complex technical challenges, and drive execution excellence
  • Partner closely with Product Management to translate market needs into technical solutions
Product Development from Concept to Scale
  • Lead development of next-generation robotics and automation platforms
  • Drive innovation from early concept development through design, verification, launch, and deployment
  • Balance new product innovation with ongoing product enhancements and reliability improvements
  • Ensure solutions deliver performance, scalability, quality, and customer value
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Build alignment across engineering, product, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and service teams
  • Influence through technical credibility and sound judgment rather than organizational authority
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to both engineers and executive leaders
  • Lead effectively in a highly matrixed environment
What We're Looking For

A leader who brings:

  • Deep expertise developing complex robotics, automation, mechatronics, or electromechanical systems
  • Proven experience leading products from concept through commercialization and scale
  • Strong technical judgment with the ability to evaluate tradeoffs, identify risks, and guide architecture decisions
  • Credibility earned through hands‑on engineering experience
  • Success leading multidisciplinary teams in matrixed organizations
  • Strong collaboration and executive communication skills
Relevant Backgrounds May Include
  • Robotics
  • Industrial automation
  • Motion control systems
  • Advanced manufacturing equipment
  • Precision machinery
  • Complex hardware-software platforms
  • Mechatronics
Why This Role Matters

Omnicell is entering a new phase of innovation. While today's portfolio includes industry-leading automation solutions, the opportunity ahead is to create the next generation of robotics platforms that redefine pharmacy and medication management.

This is a rare opportunity to shape product strategy, influence technical direction, and leave a lasting mark on a market poised for significant innovation. A successful leader will help define what pharmacy automation looks like for the next decade.

The Ideal Candidate

A technical leader who has built complex automation systems, can establish clear engineering direction, knows how to scale products from concept to commercialization, and thrives by bringing people together to solve difficult problems. Technical depth opens the door. Leadership, influence, and execution drive success.
