Published Description: Job Title: PCU/Stepdown RN About Aequor: Established in 1998, Aequor is a premier healthcare and education staffing company, committed to connecting skilled professionals with rewarding career opportunities. Job Responsibilities: Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Stepdown Unit, focusing on those who are critically ill but stable enough to leave the intensive care unit. Monitor patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall condition, promptly identifying and addressing any changes in status. Administer medications, including IV drips and infusions, as prescribed by physicians, and perform complex nursing procedures. Assist with the transition of patients from the ICU to the PCU/Stepdown unit, ensuring continuity of care and smooth handoff. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and discharge planning, promoting understanding and compliance. Perform regular assessments and document patient information accurately, maintaining up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards. Respond to emergencies and provide immediate care Utilize critical thinking skills to evaluate patient needs and make informed decisions to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Job Requirements: Current RN state license in good standing. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Stepdown Unit, or related critical care nursing field. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required. Strong knowledge of critical care nursing practices, telemetry monitoring, and cardiac care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
