Sumter Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Managerto join our nursing leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who is passionate about leading others, improving resident outcomes, and making a meaningful impact in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting.
As the RN Unit Manager, you'll oversee the daily clinical operations of an assigned nursing unit while mentoring nurses and nursing assistants, coordinating resident care, and partnering with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional, resident-centered care. RN Unit Manager Responsibilities
  • Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
  • Coordinate daily clinical operations for an assigned nursing unit.
  • Assess, monitor, and oversee resident care to ensure high-quality clinical outcomes.
  • Review physician orders and ensure medications, treatments, and nursing interventions are carried out appropriately.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, pharmacy, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct resident rounds and respond promptly to changes in resident condition.
  • Promote infection prevention, quality improvement, and resident safety initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Support survey readiness and maintain compliance with CMS and regulatory standards.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, families, physicians, and staff while promoting a culture of teamwork and excellence.
Qualifications
  • Current Alabama Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of leadership, supervisory, charge nurse, or management experience.
  • Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, post-acute care, or geriatric nursing preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Passion for mentoring staff and delivering exceptional resident care.
