Sr. RF Test Technician
Key Responsibilities
- Provide RF test support functions to a MMIC design team
- RF product testing for characterization of RF devices
- IR testing for junction temperature under bias
- Run RF / DC test software to capture product characterization data. Tests include S-parameters, P1dB, IM3, and other RF parameters related to MMIC characterization.
- Facilitate new product turn-on, design verification testing (we refer to this as ETRR testing), testing across temperature (cold, room temp, hot). Stability testing and VSWR testing. Stress testing to evaluate device or product limitations.
- Some SMT assembly of product sample boards - attach DUT(s), surface mount components, and connectors
- Troubleshooting and debug of sample board issues and device issues
- Support of loose piece sample testing (e.g. for customer samples or to support product qualification).
- Coordinate with and support multiple teams - primarily MMIC design but also test activities supporting Product Engineering to release products and Applications Engineering to support sample test requests
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or, related field or equivalent work experience and a minimum of 4 years of test experience in semiconductor test labs, design support functions, RF characterization roles, or RF design role that includes test and characterization.
- Experience with RF testing of power amplifier devices via manual and software driven test plans
- Quick to raise issues and seek support, strong team relational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, team player, fast learner, organized, methodical in approach to problem solving, team support-role inclined, task oriented and detail oriented

Due to ITAR regulations, only candidates who are U.S. Persons(U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, or individualsgranted asylum or refugee status) will be considered for this position.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Experience with RF testing 1-40 GHz, RF power exceeding 5W
- RF bench calibration and bench setup
- Experience with DC testing of RF devices
- Experience with GaN HEMT technology preferred
- Experience with Power Amplifier testing and characterization, pulsed and CW
- Experience with other RF building block components, such as RF switch and LNA
- Experience with RF bench equipment - spectrum analyzer, power supply, network analyzer, PNAX, E-cal, oscilloscope, current and voltage meters, RF power meters, couplers, circulators, 50ohm loads, slide tuners, RF cables, RF connectors
- Some ability to read and understand board schematic, layout drawing, and BOM for purpose of assembling, evaluating, or troubleshooting sample boards, RF devices, or RF test equipment or setups.
- Experience with SMT assembly and re-work of QFN, attaching PCBs to baseplates, attaching small chip components (such as 0603, 0402, and 0201) and RF connectors to sample boards (PCB)
- Fluency in RF terminology such as dBs, Smith chart, return loss, gain, isolation, compression, P1dB, ripple, power, efficiency, gate current, drain current, HEMT, LNA, PA, pulse width, duty cycle, harmonics, spurs, noise floor, noise figure, GaN, solder, flux, silicon carbide, GaAs, TOI, bias, quiescent current, breakdown voltage, junction temperature, modulation scheme, bandwidth, low-frequency termination, bondwire, overmold, QFN, ceramic package, air cavity, instantaneous bandwidth, device linearity, and switching speed.
