Job description

Summary

FIRST RF is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Production Technician to join our Production team. Successful candidates are dedicated individuals who thrive in a team-oriented environment. As a Production Technician, you will be responsible for using components and parts to produce world-class RF systems and antennas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Study work instructions, drawings, travelers, test procedures, and parts lists to gather required parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials and prepare for assembly work
  • Position and align parts and subassemblies using templates, fixtures, and test measurement equipment
  • Assemble components by soldering, inspecting parts and assemblies for proper fit, and fastening parts and subassemblies according to specifications
  • Identify and help resolve assembly issues and notify the Quality Assurance team of known or recurring problems
  • Follow established procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment
  • Anticipate material needed and submit requests for additional build kits and supplies to Inventory as needed
  • Update and maintain build documentation, work instructions, and production records using Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Complete production travelers and rework documentation as required
  • Contribute to overall team success by performing related duties and supporting production objectives as assigned
Required Education and Experience
  • Must have U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
  • High school diploma or FED
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience
  • Experience using inspection and power tools
  • Possess a strong focus on safety compliance, quality, and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Good judgement and decision-making
  • Ability to learn and complete training quickly
Preferred Education and Experience
  • J-STD-001 Solder Certification
  • Knowledge in Standard Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) practices

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. Typical office hours include Monday-Thursday, 6:30am-5pm; however, schedules may vary based on production demands and management discretion. This job may require more than 40 hours of work per week as the need arises.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, communicate verbally, and hear effectively. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, and equipment. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

The employee must be able to perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday; including being able to occasionally walk, reach with hands and arms, kneel, and crouch.
