The Director, Revenue Cycle Operations is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the performance of the functional areas that report to this position including the development and maintenance of metrics, implementation of action plans to achieve goals, the review and implementation of new technologies, and standardization of policies and processes.**Essential Job Statements*** Establishes and monitors standard work across all revenue cycle workflows executed by VCU Health staff to influence achievement of revenue cycle excellence in the patient access space.* Provides vision, leadership, and operational oversight for all Revenue Cycle Operations. Establishes positive, collaborative relationships with operational leaders, and supports cross-functional operational duties as required in support of the mission of VCU Health.* Actively leads and/or participates in modernizing Patient Access Operations. This includes but is not limited to: goal setting, tracking and reporting of metrics, development of action plans to achieve goals, review and implementation of new technologies, standardization of policies and processes, and development of communication tools to support operational implementation.* Accountable for comprehensive and effective communication strategies that promote employee engagement, which includes enhanced employee productivity and morale.* Organizes functions through establishing clear accountabilities, delegation of duties, and appropriate departmentalization in the presence of cross-functional collaboration. Develops and maintains an effective, visible, and well-respected leadership team by selecting, evaluating, coaching, and managing the performance of qualified professionals.* Collaborates with clinical and administrative leaders on projects that impact revenue cycle processes and related workflows.* Program/Project Management - Demonstrates high accountability and responsibility for projects and programs from inception through completion/implementation; manages budget and resource planning and awareness to ensure maximized output, reduced waste, and exceptional results.* Inspires and sustains team unity and engagement by developing, motivating, and guiding the team to achieve results together through productive relationships and collaborative work.* Demonstrate personal ownership and accountability for safety across the area of responsibility by role modeling daily key concepts of a high reliability organization as personal work habits.* Ensure responsibility and visible commitment of diversity equity and inclusion strategy, programs, and initiatives through collaboration and implementation of initiatives across the health system.* Performs other duties as assigned and/or participates in special projects in order to support the mission of VCUHS.
