Job description

Position Title: Retail Supervisor

Reports To: Director of Retail & Rental

Employment Status: Year-Round; Variable hour

Job Summary:

The Retail Supervisor oversees the daily operations of a Brundage Mountain Resort retail location, creating a welcoming, organized, and guest-focused shopping experience. This position is responsible for leading the retail team, including scheduling, training, coaching, inventory management, merchandising, and guest service. The Retail Supervisor helps ensure the store is fully stocked, visually appealing, and operating efficiently while supporting sales goals and delivering exceptional service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily operations of one retail location.
  • Hire, train, coach, schedule, and support retail team members.
  • Foster a positive, guest-focused environment by providing excellent customer service.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with receiving, stocking, organizing, and replenishing merchandise.
  • Place merchandise orders as directed and communicate inventory needs to the Retail Manager.
  • Create attractive merchandise displays and maintain store appearance.
  • Review daily and weekly sales reports to help identify sales trends and inventory needs.
  • Ensure the store remains clean, organized, fully stocked, and ready for guests.
  • Assist guests with product recommendations, sizing, and resolving customer concerns.
  • Support loss prevention efforts and follow cash handling procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support resort events, promotions, and daily operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous retail supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems and basic inventory management.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to coach employees and promote a positive team culture.
  • Retail, outdoor, ski, or resort experience preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Must have a valid Driver's License and pass an insurance driving history inquiry.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and extended hours during peak seasons.
  • Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including winter mountain environments.
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stock shelves, and perform physical retail setup tasks.
  • Must be dependable, adaptable, and able to work independently while collaborating across departments.
