Company Overview
Price Benowitz LLP is a mid-sized law firm headquartered in Washington, D.C., with attorneys and offices throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and South Carolina. Our practice areas include personal injury, criminal defense, medical malpractice, family law, and trusts and estates.
Our core values are Passion, Integrity, and Excellence. We welcome motivated professionals who are committed to providing exceptional service to our clients.
Job Overview
Price Benowitz LLP is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Pre-Litigation Paralegal with Virginia personal injury experience to remotely support our Washington, D.C.-based Personal Injury Practice Group.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing Virginia personal injury cases during the pre-litigation phase, from initial intake through settlement or transition to litigation. This role requires someone who can independently manage a caseload, communicate effectively with clients, medical providers, and insurance companies, and keep cases moving toward resolution.
This is a full-time, remote position, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM Eastern Time.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of personal injury matters through the pre-litigation phase, from intake through settlement or transfer to litigation.
  • Maintain organized and accurate client files and case documentation.
  • Draft and send letters of representation and other correspondence to insurance carriers, medical providers, and other parties.
  • Obtain, review, organize, and summarize medical records, bills, accident reports, insurance information, and other case-related documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding treatment, case status, documentation, and next steps.
  • Communicate with insurance adjusters, medical providers, lienholders, and other third parties.
  • Assist attorneys with evaluating claims and preparing settlement demand packages.
  • Track medical treatment, outstanding records and bills, insurance coverage, liens, and case deadlines.
  • Assist with lien identification and resolution.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and ensure all matters are progressing appropriately.
  • Prepare files for attorney review, settlement negotiations, or transition to the litigation team when necessary.
  • Provide responsive, compassionate, and professional service to clients throughout the life of their case.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum of 3+ years of personal injury paralegal or case management experience.
  • Virginia personal injury experience is required, including familiarity with Virginia-specific claims procedures, insurance issues, deadlines, and personal injury practices.
  • Strong experience managing pre-litigation personal injury cases independently.
  • Experience handling cases from intake through demand and settlement.
  • Strong knowledge of medical records, medical billing, insurance claims, and lien issues.
  • Excellent client communication and case-management skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and data-entry accuracy.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Comfortable learning and working with case-management software and other technology in a remote environment.
  • Washington, D.C. and/or Maryland personal injury experience is a plus, but Virginia experience is the primary requirement.
Additional Information
At Price Benowitz LLP, we offer a comprehensive healthcare benefits package in compliance with the Wage Transparency Omnibus Amendment Act of 2023. Our benefits include employer-supported medical, dental, and vision insurance, mental health support, disability insurance, and life insurance for income protection.
