Job Overview

The Recruitment Events Director serves as the strategic and operational leader for all recruitment event marketing, workforce outreach, field activation, and candidate engagement events delivered under the contract. This role owns the national recruitment event strategy, annual event calendar, event marketing execution plan, and event performance framework that support the Agency's workforce hiring objectives and employer branding goals. 

The Recruitment Events Director leads a team responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and evaluating both national recruitment events and local field recruiting activities. This includes oversight of event marketing strategy, booth activation design, recruiter support materials, event logistics, vendor management, shipping coordination, budget management, and event performance measurement. The Director ensures that every event contributes to candidate pipeline development, supports workforce recruitment priorities, and reflects a consistent employer brand experience. 

Working closely with the Recruitment Marketing Program Director, Performance and Execution Marketing Director, Creative Director, Strategy and Brand Director, Performance and Execution Analytics Manager, field recruiters, and Government stakeholders, the Event Recruitment Director ensures that recruitment events are strategically selected, professionally executed, effectively promoted, and measured against clearly defined recruitment objectives. 

This position will support a Federal Government customer in Washington, DC.
Core Responsibilities
  • Own the development, execution, and continuous refinement of the annual recruitment event strategy in support of organizational hiring objectives and workforce planning priorities. 
  • Develop and maintain a national event calendar in partnership with Government stakeholders, field offices, recruiters, hiring managers, and workforce planning teams. 
  • Lead planning and execution for national recruitment conferences, career expos, hiring events, military recruiting initiatives, diversity outreach programs, educational institution engagements, industry conferences, and local job fairs. 
  • Establish event participation strategies that align recruiting resources with workforce hiring needs, target audiences, geographic priorities, and candidate demand. 
  • Direct event activation planning, including booth design, exhibit concepts, branded experiences, visual displays, collateral development, and candidate engagement activities. 
  • Develop, manage, and continuously maintain a standardized recruitment event toolkit that provides recruiters and field personnel with approved materials, displays, presentations, promotional assets, and event support resources. 
  • Coordinate event preparation activities with field offices, recruiters, event points of contact, venue representatives, vendors, and Government stakeholders. 
  • Oversee all event logistics, including venue coordination, registration management, shipping schedules, staffing plans, inventory tracking, travel support, and on-site operational requirements. 
  • Manage event material production and distribution schedules to ensure recruiting teams receive all required assets and resources well in advance of scheduled events. 
  • Collaborate with Creative Studio personnel to ensure recruitment materials, displays, event signage, presentations, and promotional assets remain brand-compliant and aligned with recruitment messaging. 
  • Partner with the Performance and Execution Marketing Director to integrate event marketing initiatives with digital campaigns, paid media efforts, social media engagement, email communications, and recruitment outreach activities. 
  • Develop and maintain event-specific performance metrics and success criteria in partnership with the Performance and Execution Analytics Manager. 
  • Monitor event performance, candidate engagement, lead generation, application activity, and recruiting outcomes associated with event participation. 
  • Deliver event performance reports, strategic assessments, and recommendations to the Program Director and Analytics Manager for integration into executive reporting and campaign performance analysis. 
  • Manage event budgets, direct-cost expenditures, vendor contracts, sponsorships, venue costs, travel expenses, and related event investments. 
  • Review and approve event-related direct cost requests and procurement requirements associated with event execution. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruiting event effectiveness, operational efficiency, candidate engagement, and return on investment. 
  • Ensure all event activities comply with contractual requirements, Government policies, branding standards, security protocols, and organizational procedures. 
Requirements
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience leading recruitment marketing events, event marketing programs, workforce outreach initiatives, field activation programs, or related activities. 
  • Ability to work on-site in the Washington, DC metropolitan area up to five days per week, with telework permitted when authorized by the Government. 
  • Ability to travel in support of national recruiting and workforce outreach initiatives. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing national-scale event programs involving multiple stakeholders, locations, and recruiting objectives. 
  • Experience coordinating logistics and operational support across numerous simultaneous events and geographically dispersed teams. 
  • Proven experience managing event budgets, vendor relationships, sponsorships, procurement activities, and event-related expenditures. 
  • Experience developing event strategies tied to measurable recruitment, marketing, or workforce outcomes. 
  • Strong project management, organizational planning, and operational leadership capabilities. 
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with marketing, recruiting, communications, and executive stakeholders. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives within fast-paced and deadline-driven environments.
