Reports To: Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: MondayFriday, standard business hours with occasional evenings/weekends as needed

The Events and Community Engagement Coordinator provides administrative and project coordination support with executing fundraising events, community engagement initiatives and development goals for Ronald McDonald House Atlanta.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about Ronald McDonald House Atlantas mission to keep families close. Strong communication, project management skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities are essential in this fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The Events and Community Engagement Coordinator reports to the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships.


Qualifications:

  1. Education & Experience:
    • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit fundraising, marketing, event planning, or communications preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in development, event coordination, or donor relations.
  2. Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong organizational and project management skills, with a high attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with donor databases (Raisers Edge preferred).
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
    • Team-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude and a passion for mission-driven work.
    • Must pass a federal background check.

Essential Functions:

Events and Community Engagement

  • Support the planning and execution of Ronald McDonald House Atlantas Signature Events (e.g., Handbag Hullabaloo, Red Jacket Golf Classic, Gala, Bones, Wine & Fries) and community fundraisers.
  • Assist with venue logistics, vendor communications, registration, guest lists, and event check-in processes.
  • Create sponsorship deliverables including recognition opportunities, benefit fulfillment, and engagement activations to ensure sponsors receive meaningful and well-executed partnership experience.
  • Track sponsorship and donor commitments, invoicing, and ensure fulfillment of sponsor benefits.
  • Coordinate volunteer involvement in collaboration with the Volunteer Services team.
  • Serve as a liaison for third-party fundraising efforts, offering guidance and support to individuals and organizations hosting events for Ronald McDonald House Atlanta.
  • Assist with Young Professionals Group planning, communications, and event logistics.
  • Support peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns with toolkits, messaging, and engagement strategies.

Donor Stewardship

  • Assist with cultivation and stewardship of event and community donorsidentifying new prospects and supporting relationships with current and lapsed donors.
  • Prepare thank-you letters, donor reports, impact updates, and other stewardship materials.
  • Maintain accurate donor records in Raisers Edge and support reporting and database management.

Administrative & Cross-Departmental Support

  • Maintain tracking systems for events, community engagement and donor engagement activities.
  • Prepare reports, meeting agendas, presentations, and outreach materials as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to ensure brand and messaging consistency.
  • Support other fundraising initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Office-based role within Ronald McDonald House Atlantas Administrative Offices.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work required for donor events and deadlines.
  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting, computer work, and phone communication.
