Job Summary and Qualifications

1. Position Summary: The Director of Quality will oversee hospital compliance as it pertains to regulatory requirements and public reporting, including but not limited to The Joint Commission, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Manages Quality programs and regulatory functions. Serves as the Leader of the Regulatory Readiness Committee. Accountable for ongoing continuous survey readiness, mock surveys facilitation, regulatory rounding throughout the hospital, survey coordination, post survey follow up, and regulatory compliance with licensing and accreditation. Oversees the completion of various regulatory and quality survey submission requests. Interacts with senior management, multidisciplinary departments, and the medical staff as required to keep all adequately informed and educated on regulatory issues.  Assists in the management of policies and procedures. Participates in process improvement related to quality and regulatory standards which may include patient and facility safety initiatives.  When need arises, performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. 

1. Position Requirements: 

1.  Licensure/Certification/Registration: None required. Certified Joint Commission Professional (CJCP) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred. 

1. Education: Bachelor’s with related experience in healthcare, nursing, business or process improvement required.  Master’s degree preferred.  

1. Experience: Minimum A minimum of five years experience in acute care setting required.  Previous management experience preferred. 

1. Knowledge/skills/abilities: Must have knowledge of JCAHO standards as well as federal, state, and local statutes related to healthcare.  Must have the ability to assess information, apply critical thinking, determine best course of action, and convey necessary information to the interdisciplinary team.  Requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  Must be able to prioritize workload. 

• Experience in providing education and presentations 

• Experience with policy and procedure development 

• Computer skills in Word, Excel, and Power Point
