The Director Public Affairs – North America advances and protects Goodyear’s enterprise business interests across the region by shaping public policy outcomes, mitigating material regulatory and political risk, securing public funding and incentives, and serving as a senior representative of the company with national governments and key external stakeholders.Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Public Policy, Regulatory & Advocacy Leadership: Set and direct integrated public policy, regulatory, and advocacy priorities across North America markets exercising judgment and decision authority on policy positions that materially affect Goodyear’s manufacturing, commercial, and supply‑chain strategyGovernment & Stakeholder Representation: Serve as a senior company representative with national and local governments, regulators, and trade associations; lead lobbying, coalition‑building, and external advocacy efforts on issues with significant business, financial, or reputational impactPolicy Intelligence, Risk & Issues Management: Anticipate and assess political, policy, and regulatory developments across North America markets; advise regional and global leadership on material risks and opportunities, and lead local response to high‑impact regulatory, trade, and politically driven business issuesRegional Leadership & Global Alignment: Lead the North America public affairs organization and national representatives’ network; localize and implement global public affairs strategy to ensure consistent messaging, disciplined governance, and alignment with enterprise prioritiesResource & Investment Management: Manage regional public affairs resources and external advisors and influence the allocation of advocacy budgets and public affairs investments to support enterprise prioritiesKey ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, International Relations, Business, or a related fieldAdvanced degree (e.g., Master’s or J.D.) preferred10+ years of progressively responsible experience in public affairs, government relations, regulatory affairs, or public policyDemonstrated experience operating across multiple North American marketsExperience leading teams and coordinating advocacy across multiple countries in a multinational organizationSpanish fluency is a plusKey SkillsStrong understanding of political, regulatory, and policy environments affecting manufacturing, trade, and market access across North AmericaAbility to analyze and translate complex policy developments into clear business risks, opportunities, and recommended actionsProven capability to build and sustain senior‑level relationships with government officials, regulators, and trade associationsStrong strategic judgment and issue‑management capability in in diverse governance environmentsExcellent executive‑level written and verbal communicationAbility to lead and influence across a matrixed, multinational organization with integrity and discretion#LI-FA1Goodyear is one of the world's largest tire companies.
