Overview

PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Sr Director Pricing & Product Analytics at our Tysons, Virginia; Dallas, Texas or San Antonio, Texas location. PenFed is seeking a Senior Director of Pricing & Product Analytics to drive pricing strategy, product performance insights, and portfolio optimization across the Auto Lending and Unsecured Lending businesses (including Personal Loans, Student Loans, and Overdraft Lines of Credit). The incumbent will be responsible for leading pricing and product analytics, developing data-driven recommendations, and providing executive-ready insights that influence business strategy. The role requires deep expertise in consumer lending economics, pricing optimization tools, and analytical storytelling to support sustainable growth, risk-adjusted returns, and competitive positioning. The ideal candidate has proven experience partnering with Product, Risk, Decision Science, and Finance teams, while leading a small team of analysts in delivering high-quality insights and reporting.


Responsibilities

  • Pricing Strategy Leadership: Drive auto and unsecured lending pricing strategy, including development of pricing frameworks, monitoring of competitive dynamics, and use of pricing optimization tools such as Nomis Pricing Optimization Engine.

  • Risk & Policy Alignment: Partner with Decision Science and Risk teams to monitor credit performance, loan pricing effectiveness, and portfolio health across both secured and unsecured lending portfolios; provide analytical feedback to influence enhancements to risk models and lending policies.

  • Business Health Monitoring: Oversee analysis of the full consumer lending lifecycle, from application funnel through booked loan performance, identifying opportunities to optimize conversion, yield, and member outcomes.

  • Data Stewardship & Reporting: Develop reporting and dashboard solutions that provide timely, accurate, and actionable insights; collaborate with the Consumer Lending BI team to ensure data integrity, governance, and stewardship.

  • Product Support: Deliver analytical insights that help product teams across Auto, Personal, and Student Loan products assess business trends, evaluate product performance, and inform roadmap decisions.

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a small team of 2–3 analysts, providing coaching on methodology, data visualization, and executive storytelling.

  • Executive Insights: Produce executive-ready analyses and recommendations on pricing, product performance, and market trends across secured and unsecured lending to influence senior leadership decisions.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as a trusted business partner to Product, Finance, Risk, and Marketing leadership, fostering a data-driven culture and ensuring alignment of pricing and product analytics with broader strategic goals.


Qualifications

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Economics, Business Analytics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field; Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of progressively responsible experience in financial services with a focus on pricing, product analytics, or related fields.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct management experience required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a Director Level role required.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry standards and practices in business intelligence/analytics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in consumer lending economics (including auto and unsecured loan pricing strategy).
  • Hands-on experience with pricing optimization platforms (e.g., Nomis, FICO Loan Pricing Optimizer) strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, or R).
  • Experience developing reports and dashboards using BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake, Salesforce Data Cloud) preferred.
  • Track record of managing and mentoring small teams of analysts.
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to present technical and financial insights to senior executives in clear, actionable terms.
  • Proven track record of advancing thought leadership and enabling an analytical strategic vision for Product insights.
  • Experience partnering with large, cross-functional teams and leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. High degree of proficiency in synthesizing and communicating data from a variety of disciplines.
  • Experience using A.I. tools preferred.
