The Director of Admissions provides strategic leadership for all undergraduate and graduate admissions operations, ensuring the successful execution of enrollment initiatives that support the University's growth objectives. This position is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment strategies, leading the admissions team, monitoring enrollment performance, and creating a student-centered admissions experience from inquiry through enrollment.
The Director collaborates closely with Financial Aid, Marketing, Athletics, Academic Departments, Student Services, and University Leadership to improve enrollment outcomes, streamline operational processes, and ensure exceptional customer service throughout the admissions journey.
Responsibilities
  • Lead University enrollment strategy by developing, implementing, and continuously improving comprehensive enrollment and recruitment strategies across all academic programs to achieve institutional enrollment goals and improve application, acceptance, yield, and enrollment conversion rates.
  • Direct the daily operations of the Admissions Office, ensuring efficient workflows, consistent application of institutional policies and procedures, accurate records and documentation, and a seamless, student-focused experience from initial inquiry through orientation.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate Admissions Representatives; establish performance expectations; monitor individual and team productivity; and provide ongoing coaching, professional development, and performance feedback to foster a collaborative and high-performing team.
  • Analyze enrollment trends, pipeline performance, conversion rates, and key performance indicators, including applications, acceptances, deposits, registrations, yield, and enrollment projections. Prepare and present regular enrollment reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Represent the University at recruitment events, college fairs, high school visits, athletic events, and community outreach activities. Build and maintain relationships with prospective students, families, coaches, school counselors, and community partners to support enrollment objectives.
  • Partner with Marketing, Financial Aid, Athletics, Academic Departments, Student Services, the Registrar, and other campus stakeholders to coordinate recruitment efforts, strengthen the enrollment experience, and support institutional enrollment goals. Participate in institutional committees and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Evaluate and enhance admissions technology, workflows, reporting processes, and recruitment practices. Implement enrollment management and admissions best practices and recommend operational improvements that increase efficiency, student engagement, and service quality.
  • Monitor customer service standards throughout the admissions process and promote a responsive, welcoming, and student-centered experience that supports prospective students through the enrollment journey.

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in admissions, enrollment management, recruitment, or higher education administration.
  • Demonstrated success achieving enrollment goals.
  • Experience supervising and developing admissions or recruitment staff.
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems (Slate preferred).
