Location: 3701 Holmes Road, Houston, TX 77051

Department: Engineering

Reports To: Director of Projects & Engineering

Work Schedule: M - F 8-5, Sat 8 -12 Noon

**Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder. No H1B/H4/F1/F3/OPT/EAD Statuses.


Role Overview

The Industrial Designer role is responsible for coordinating all technical activities on assigned projects. This position plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates assigned engineering work. This role also monitors all work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and PTP standards; ensuring effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciples and all other project participants.

Key Responsibilities

? Planning, Scheduling, Conducting, & Coordinating: Technical & Management Aspects of Projects.

? Submitting Manufacturing Instructions to Shop.

? Ensuring Technical Design Accuracy: This includes specific design details in areas not qualified.

? Must Present Sufficient Technical Knowledge & Awareness of Details: Must be able to recognize when technical problems are developing in the various disciplines

? Initiate Appropriate Corrective Actions: If issues arise, work persistently to find solutions for complete resolution. Resolve Client/Engineering or Project Management Issues.

? Contribute to Large Projects: A Project Manager may delegate certain Project Management responsibilities to a Project Engineer. This includes “day-to-day” interactions with the Client’s designated representative, as well as, coordination of all internal activities performed by PTP staff.

? Coordinate Activities with the Following Departments: Purchasing, Accounting, Manufacturing, Sales, & Quality Control.

? Accountable for Successful Completion of Engineering Projects.


Tasks

? Project Engineering Schedules & Forecasts.

? Coordination & Checking of Engineering Deliverables.

? Weekly Status Updates/Reports.

? Extensive Contact with Assigned Project Clients.

? Complete Contract Review of Awarded Purchase Orders to Ensure Compliance with Quoted Terms & Conditions.

? Communications, Coordination, & Dispute Resolution with Clients.

? Coordinate with Shop Productions to Establish Delivery Schedules for All Products on the Purchase Order.

? Assist in the Preparation of Engineering Project Proposals.

? Participate in Client/Contract Meetings.


Requirements:

Qualifications & Skills

? Experience: 2+ years in engineering roles related to industrial equipment, piping & pipe supports, or similar products preferred.

? Technical Acumen: Understanding of piping & pipe supports, industrial applications, and a high-level of engineering principles.

? Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage clients and internal teams effectively.

? Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering, Preferably a Master’s Degree in Engineering

? Equivalent Combination of Education, Training, & Experience
