Job description

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Static Equipment Location: Freeport, TX Type: Contract to Direct Compensation: Depending on experience Contractor Work Model: Onsite Hours: 5 – 8 hours day System One is e are seeking a high-caliber Mechanical Engineer to join an engineering team in Houston, TX. This role is a temporary field assignment working in maintenance and service department. Mechanical Engineer – Static Equipment is responsible for:

  • Attend vendor and internal team meetings
  • Specify vessels, columns, tanks, heat exchangers, vessel internals and other static process equipment
  • Prepare equipment data sheets, and full mechanical equipment and system specifications
  • Perform technical and economic evaluations, bid tabulations, and prepare recommendations
  • Attend vendor design and fabrication kickoff meetings
  • Perform ASME/NBIC/API code repair and alteration calculations as well as FFS evaluations
Mechanical Engineer – Static Equipment Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5-10 years of static equipment experience for industrial applications
  • Professional Engineer License
  • TWIC Card is a plus
  • Experience in Pipe Stress Analysis using CAESAR II software
  • Experience working with ASME Section VIII, TEMA, and API Standards for static equipment
  • Strong Experience with ASME B31.1 and B31.3 Piping Codes
  • Experience using PRG Solutions Software (FEPipe, NozzlePro, etc.) for Analysis
  • Experience using HTRI for heat exchanger design and troubleshooting
  • Experience with COMPRESS pressure vessel design software
  • Strong attention to detail and capable to perform detailed technical document and drawing checking
