Title: Director of Data and AI
Location: New York
Overview: We are seeking an experienced Director of Data and AI to lead our data and AI service offerings, working directly with clients to design, implement, and optimize innovative data platforms and AI solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with diverse data ecosystems, data governance, implementing Cloud Data Platforms (CDPs), and applying AI/GenAI to drive business results. This role requires excellent client management skills, technical expertise, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional value to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement and Delivery
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their business challenges and translating them into data and AI strategies.
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable data platforms, advanced analytics solutions, and AI/GenAI initiatives for clients.
  • Ensure successful delivery of data and AI projects, meeting timelines, budgets, and client expectations.

Solution Development
  • Drive the development of best-in-class solutions using modern data architectures, cloud technologies, and AI frameworks.
  • Leverage expertise in Cloud Data Platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to create robust, secure, and cost-effective data solutions for clients.
  • Design AI/GenAI solutions that solve client-specific problems, such as predictive modeling, personalization, and process automation.

Data Governance and Compliance
  • Establish and implement data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Guide clients in developing robust data policies, procedures, and standards for data management.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure adherence to privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and mitigate risks associated with data breaches or misuse.

Team Leadership and Development
  • Build, mentor, and lead a team of data architects, engineers, and AI/ML experts.

Thought Leadership and Innovation
  • Stay ahead of industry trends in data and AI to position Photon as a leader in the space.
  • Develop thought leadership content, including white papers, webinars, and presentations, to showcase our expertise.
  • Identify new opportunities for client engagement and innovative offerings to expand the business.

Operational Excellence
  • Establish and track key metrics to measure the success and impact of client solutions.
  • Ensure all solutions comply with regulatory, security, and privacy standards.
  • Optimize processes and methodologies to improve efficiency and quality in solution delivery.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: 10+ years in data and analytics, with a significant portion in client-facing or consulting roles.
  • Expertise: Strong experience in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake), data architecture, and CDP implementations.
  • AI Knowledge: Proven track record of designing and delivering AI/GenAI solutions that address real-world business problems.
  • Data Governance: Demonstrated ability to establish and implement data governance frameworks that ensure high data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Client Management: Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships, understand their needs, and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in big data technologies, cloud-native services, machine learning frameworks, and programming languages (e.g., Python, Spark, SQL).
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills with experience managing technical teams and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

Compensation, Benefits and Duration
Minimum Compensation: USD 100,000
Maximum Compensation: USD 300,000
Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
