Overview

The Director, Advanced Analytics is responsible for leading the analytics strategy and capabilities that enable growth across the Walmart and Sam's Club business. This leader partners closely with commercial leadership to translate complex business questions into actionable insights, predictive analytics, and scalable digital solutions that improve decision-making and drive commercial performance.

This role leads a team responsible for advanced analytics, executive reporting, dashboard strategy, predictive modeling, and data-driven problem solving across the Walmart business. Working cross-functionally with Digital Experience (DX), Strategy, Transformation & Analytics (ST&A), Data & Analytics (D&A), eCommerce Technology, Global Business Services (GBS), Commercial Insights, and Product teams, the Director ensures high-quality analytics, trusted data, and scalable capabilities that support both near-term business priorities and long-term capability development.

Success in this role requires a strong combination of commercial acumen, analytical expertise, strategic thinking, people leadership, and influence across a highly matrixed organization.


Responsibilities

Analytics Strategy & Business Partnership:

  • Serve as the strategic analytics leader supporting the Walmart and Sam's Club business, translating business priorities into scalable analytical solutions.
  • Partner with senior commercial leaders to identify opportunities where advanced analytics can improve customer strategy, category performance, forecasting, revenue growth, and operational execution.
  • Deliver executive-level insights, recommendations, and business reporting that influence strategic decision making.
  • Lead prioritization of analytics work, balancing business impact, resource capacity, and delivery timelines.
  • Communicate complex analytical findings in a clear, actionable manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Advanced Analytics & Capability Development:

  • Lead the development and application of advanced analytics, predictive models, machine learning, and statistical techniques to solve complex commercial challenges.
  • Oversee development of analytics supporting areas such as price elasticity, demand forecasting, phantom inventory, shopper behavior, assortment, promotional effectiveness, and other key business opportunities.
  • Identify emerging trends, risks, and growth opportunities through structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources.
  • Define and execute the analytics capability roadmap, aligning Horizon 1 execution with longer-term Horizon 2 and Horizon 3 innovation priorities.
  • Champion adoption of modern analytics, AI, and predictive capabilities to drive more proactive decision making across the organization.

Product & Data Enablement:

  • Lead the strategy and governance for executive dashboards and analytics products that provide consistent, trusted business insights.
  • Partner with DX, D&A, ST&A, GBS, and technology teams to improve data quality, strengthen data foundations, and enhance digital analytics capabilities.
  • Ensure analytics products are scalable, user-centric, and aligned with evolving business needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting automation, visualization, and self-service analytics capabilities.

People Leadership:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of analytics professionals while fostering a culture of curiosity, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Build future-ready analytics capabilities by investing in technical development, commercial acumen, and leadership growth.
  • Establish clear priorities, performance expectations, and accountability across the team.
  • Build strong partnerships across PepsiCo's commercial, analytics, technology, and enterprise functions to maximize organizational impact.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $132,200 - $262,400.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 25% of annual salary paid out annually and an additional target payout of 10% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period.
  • Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.
