Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a Predictive Maintenance Specialist - Power Technical SME to join our Digital Services team. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert for analyzing system data and driving insights that improve the performance of digitally enabled Power products. You'll collaborate with engineering, technical support, and field service teams to ensure data accuracy, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver innovative solutions that enhance customer outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to influence product performance, contribute to strategic initiatives, and play a key role in shaping the future of digital power management.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Power systems diagnostics, delivering actionable insights for predictive remediation in mission-critical environments, and champion continuous improvement initiatives. Experience with digital platforms for data analysis is highly desirable. Familiarity with predictive analytics concepts, machine learning applications, and data center operations is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in interpreting parametric, telemetric, diagnostic, and alarm data for Predictive Maintenance of digitally enabled Power products.
  • Partner with engineering, technical support, and field service teams to validate event data and ensure accuracy across digital platforms.
  • Analyze and resolve performance issues, providing remediation strategies and technical guidance to field technicians and customers.
  • Advance the analysis, validation, and troubleshooting of Power system data to improve reliability, efficiency, and service quality.
  • Collaborate with Global Engineering teams on the development and advancement of Power algorithm capabilities by identifying, mapping and correlating telemetry and diagnostic data, alarms, events, and incidents, improving incident implementation, detecting and response effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Global Engineering teams on the integration and refinement of Power data models within Digital Services systems.
  • Collaborate with Global Engineering teams on the integration and refinement of Power data models within Digital Services systems.
  • Apply best practices and innovative approaches to optimize product management and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead the development of technical documentation, knowledge articles, and support resources for Digital Services in relation to Power products.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending process and platform enhancements.
  • Participate in customer engagements, on-site escalations, special projects, and strategic initiatives as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications: (education, experience level, knowledge, skills, certifications).
  • Bachelors' degree in Electrical Engineering, related field or equivalent Military experience required.
  • Minimum of five years' experience interacting with customers at a technical level required within the Data Center environment.
  • Working knowledge of digital service solutions, with a focus on leveraging these platforms to monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot data from Power systems.
  • Familiarity with Predictive Maintenance programs is plus.
  • Experience and Knowledge of Vertiv Power products is a plus.
  • Deep expertise in Power dynamics and proven ability to analyze complex Power systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Power systems diagnostics and remediation.
  • Experience working with proprietary cloud-based platforms for data analysis is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and their application in predictive analytics is a plus.
  • Experience in data center environments is strongly preferred.
  • Experience interfacing with global or international teams is a plus.
  • Experience with Power system ancillary controls like BMS, MODBUS, CAN communications, and PLC is a plus.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to direct, build, and lead technical teams.
  • Possess a positive attitude and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Proficient PC skills including all Microsoft Office products and web-based technologies.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical diagrams, drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong skill sets: Customer service skills, troubleshooting skills, analytical skills, safety minded, Microsoft Office and web-based technology, mechanical aptitude.
