Summary

The Associate Director, Perception Analytics is an experienced pharmaceutical industry professional with deep expertise in using artificial intelligence and technology to convert large amounts of raw text data of various types and sources (including, but not limited to: post-launch field interaction notes, reactions collected at pharmaceutical symposia and congresses, social media posts, entries on industry forums, and others) into easily digestible and actionable reports for consumption by senior leaders of the Medical organization and other key areas of the enterprise.

The Medical Insights Lead must be exceedingly proficient in text analytics, data visualization, artificial intelligence, and predictive methodologies in order to drive performance and support decision making across all levels of the business.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Medical Analytics therapeutic area and offshore Hyderabad leads to create plans and execute analytics of raw insights surrounding product launches, major industry conferences, key data releases, and other critical events.
  • Leverage cutting‑edge artificial intelligence models and other technology to automate and standardize the ingestion and standardization of text insights, accelerating the process of generating meaningful analyses that drive strategy.
  • Coordinate with matrix partners from Medical and Field Medical (all therapeutic areas) to understand key business questions, priorities, needs, and deliverables.
  • Lead delivery of high‑quality analytics reports in a timely manner to ensure prompt consumption and enable necessary adjustments to short‑ and long‑term strategy.
  • Hold regular meetings with partners to present findings, field relevant questions, and address issues as they arise. Serve as technical expert for insight analytics in Medical leadership forums, BI&A project reviews, industry symposia, and other areas.
  • Coordinate with Medical Analytics Manager and leads on timelines and harmonization of objectives and messaging.
  • Partner with Medical Analytics leads and matrix colleagues on reasonable expansion and integration of data sources for medical insights.
  • Maintain close relationships with BI&T, data platform owners, and related colleagues to ensure linkages between data sources are robust, well‑defined, and secure.
  • Understand Compliance and Legal rules governing data sets for use in certain markets and business units.
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in life / physical sciences (biology, chemistry, physics), applied sciences (computer science, mathematics, data science), or engineering. MA/MS minimum, PhD or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience, including 4+ years of experience in data analytics.
  • Management consulting experience beneficial
  • Clinical or pharmaceutical / healthcare industry experience preferred
  • Experience working successfully in a matrix environment, including articulating value propositions, challenging assumptions, balancing trade‑offs, and managing demand.
  • Deep understanding of how data can be used to answer critical business solutions and develop creative solutions
  • Deep understanding of the state‑of‑the‑art in analytics methodologies to extract key information from large amounts of raw text. Ability to assimilate and deploy new tools and technologies to existing and future data sources.

Compensation Overview

Princeton - NJ - US: $167,540 - $203,013

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full‑time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Based on eligibility*, additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.

All global employees full and part‑time who are actively employed at and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible to take advantage of the Global Shutdown.

*Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office‑based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote‑by‑design or lab‑based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.
