Medical Weight Loss Coach

Fairfax, VA β€’ On-site

$75K/yr

Full-time

Re-posted 6 days ago

Key responsibilities

  • Lead client onboarding and develop personalized nutrition, movement, and habit plans aligned with the medical program.

  • Review client progress data, adjust coaching support, and provide ongoing motivation and accountability through virtual and in‑clinic interactions.

  • Support in‑clinic onboarding, take basic vitals, assist with body composition scans, and support injection visits as directed by the provider.

Job description

Medical Weight Loss Coach (In-Clinic + Telehealth)

The Medical Weight Loss Coach works directly with clients enrolled in our 3-Phase Body Reset Program. This is a holistic medical weight loss program that combines nutrition, exercise, data tracking, and medicine such as GLP-1s to help people lose weight, reset their metabolism, and avoid rebound. The role is coaching‑first, with a mix of virtual and in‑clinic work depending on location.

You will guide clients from onboarding through long‑term maintenance using medication, nutrition, movement, and habits. Most client visits are televisits; many clients prefer an in‑person onboarding and occasional in‑clinic follow‑ups. Clinical decisions (diagnosis, prescribing, dose changes, lab interpretation) are handled by licensed providers.

Compensation:

$60,000 - $75,000 OTE

Responsibilities:

Client Coaching & Accountability (Remote)

  • Lead client onboarding (virtual or in‑person) focused on goals, history, and lifestyle.

  • Build simple, sustainable nutrition, movement, and habit plans aligned with the medical plan.

  • Provide 1:1 and group coaching via video, app messaging, and our coaching platforms.

  • Review progress data (Hume Body Pod, in‑office scans, photos, adherence tracking) and adjust coaching support.

  • Use clear goals, accountability, and motivational interviewing to keep clients engaged between visits.

GLP‑1 Program Support (Non‑Clinical)

  • Educate clients on how their GLP‑1 medication fits into the full program, expected timelines, and adherence best practices.

  • Run structured check‑ins on adherence, side effects, hunger, energy, and behavior follow‑through.

  • Flag adverse reactions, missed doses, or off‑protocol use to the provider; reinforce provider instructions.

  • For local clients: support in‑clinic onboarding visits and occasional in‑clinic check‑ins for those who prefer it.

In‑Clinic Support (For Local/Hybrid Coaches)

  • Host or assist with in‑person onboarding appointments and review of program expectations.

  • Take basic vitals and guide clients through body composition scans.

  • Support a small number of in‑clinic injection visits as directed by the provider (no independent clinical decision‑making).

  • Help keep rooms prepped, equipment ready, and supplies organized.

Data, Documentation & Communication

  • Maintain accurate, timely notes in EMR/CRM for all contacts, visits, and follow‑ups.

  • Proactively manage a roster of clients: track who is on track, who is at risk, and who needs outreach.

  • Communicate client trends, risks, and wins with providers and operations to improve retention and outcomes.

Education & Program Support

  • Help create and improve simple education materials (handouts, videos, community posts) for onboarding, GLP‑1 use, nutrition, movement, and maintenance.

  • Lead or support group Q&A, coaching calls, and community engagement.

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years in nutrition coaching, health coaching, or related behavior‑change role.

  • At least one of the following (not all required):

    • Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Exercise Science, Health Promotion, or related field, or

    • Recognized nutrition/health coaching certification (e.g., NASM, Precision Nutrition, NCI, NBHWC, etc).

  • Strong client communication skills and ability to make complex topics simple.

  • Comfortable using telehealth tools, apps, and EMR/CRM systems.

  • Private, distraction‑free workspace and reliable high‑speed internet for telehealth.

  • Ability to work independently, manage follow‑ups, and organize a client panel with limited supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Located within driving distance of the clinic and available for regular in‑clinic days.

  • Experience in medical weight loss, GLP‑1 programs, metabolic health coaching, or hormonal health coaching.

  • Knowledgeable in other peptides.

  • Prior telehealth or hybrid clinic experience.

  • Bilingual (Spanish).
