Director of Physician Practice Operations - Hospital Medicine - Gulf South Region
A regional 500+ bed acute care hospital with Level II Trauma status in the Gulf South Region is adding a Director of Physician Practice Operations to lead its hospitalist division. This role owns the full operational and financial performance of a 35-40 provider group. Throughput is the top priority for this program, and the hospital is looking for a Director who has directly moved the needle on length of stay and discharge efficiency before, not just managed staffing and schedules.
You'll work directly with hospital executive leadership, medical staff services, and nursing leadership to keep the inpatient medicine service running smoothly, financially sound, and fully compliant.
Key functions:
  • Operational leadership for a 35-40 provider hospital medicine and APP group
  • Financial oversight including budgeting, P&L, and payroll validation
  • Credentialing and licensing compliance across the entire provider roster
  • Recruitment, onboarding, and performance management for new and existing providers
  • Primary point of contact between the medical group and hospital C-suite
What you need:
  • Bachelor's degree required, MHA/MBA preferred
  • 3-5+ years in healthcare operations or physician practice management, ideally inpatient/hospital medicine
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and EHR/HRIS proficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to manage under pressure with strong organizational skills

Compensation: Up to $140,000 plus a $15,000 relocation package for candidates relocating to the area.
