Job Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and technical Power BI Report Developer & Analyst to bridge the gap between complex data and actionable business strategy. This role is pivotal to our food manufacturing operations, focusing on the design, development, and maintenance of Power BI ecosystems integrated directly with our ERP.

The successful candidate will provide the visibility necessary to optimize inventory, stabilize COGS, and enhance production efficiency. We are looking for a professional who possesses not only the technical rigor of a data developer but also the business acumen to understand the nuances of manufacturing and financial workflows.

Duties/ Responsibilities

Reporting & Dashboard Development

  • Visualization: Design, develop, and deploy sophisticated, interactive Power BI dashboards that simplify complex datasets into intuitive KPIs.
  • Standardization: Establish a suite of standardized reports focusing on:
  • Inventory: Accuracy, turnover rates, and aging.
    • Financials: Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and detailed variance analysis.
    • Production: Yield tracking, labor efficiency, and throughput.
    • Quality: Waste/shrinkage, rework metrics, and compliance tracking.
    • Supply Chain: Vendor performance and procurement lead times.

Data Modeling & Governance

  • Architecture: Build and maintain robust data models utilizing DAX and Power Query (M).
  • Integration: Seamlessly integrate data from Aptean (ERP), SQL databases, SharePoint, and external Excel sources.
  • Integrity: Ensure absolute data accuracy and governance across all reporting layers; perform regular audits to troubleshoot discrepancies such as inflated inventory or cost variances.

Business Analysis & Insights

  • Root Cause Analysis: Identify trends and anomalies to uncover the "why" behind production or financial variances.
  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Quality teams to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations for cost management and process improvement.

ERP Support & Process Optimization

  • System Synergy: Serve as the subject matter expert for ERP reporting, identifying gaps in system processes that may negatively impact data reliability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively enhance existing report structures to adapt to evolving business needs.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Training

  • Requirement Gathering: Translate stakeholder needs into technical specifications.
  • Empowerment: Conduct training sessions for end-users to promote self-service reporting and data literacy.
  • Communication: Bridge the gap between technical data structures and executive-level business insights.

Education/Experience

Required

  • Bachelorโ€™s or Associate degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Analytics, Info Systems, Finance, Engineering) or equivalent technical certifications.
  • Experience: 3+ years of dedicated experience in Power BI development and data modeling.
  • Technical Stack: Advanced proficiency in DAX and Power Query.
    • Deep understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts.
    • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (experience with Aptean is a significant advantage).
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Power Pivot, VBA, etc.).

Preferred

  • Industry Knowledge: Experience within the food manufacturing or FMCG sectors.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of standard costing, COGS, and inventory accounting.
  • Technical Plus: Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
