As a Director of Podcast Partnerships, you will be a driven revenue contributor responsible for growing relationships with CPG and Retail brands and developing new business across the Vox Media Podcast Network. You will serve as a strategic partner to brand marketers and agencies, delivering innovative podcast and talent solutions that connect brands with highly engaged, intellectually curious audiences at scale.
Leveraging Vox Media's premium podcast network - including leading shows and high-profile talent across food, lifestyle, culture, sports, and entertainment - high-value audiences, and unique scale, you will build partnerships that drive measurable brand outcomes. This role demands a consultative mindset, strong relationship-building skills, a passion for podcasts and talent, and a relentless drive to grow revenue in a fast-paced, ambitious environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Drive CPG & Retail Revenue Growth: Develop and manage a growing book of business with CPG and Retail clients, identifying opportunities to deepen existing partnerships and win new ones across the Vox Media Podcast Network.
  • Build Key Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with brand managers, VP and SVP-level marketing decision-makers, and agency partners - positioning Vox Media as a trusted, go-to partner for podcast and talent investment in the CPG and Retail categories.
  • Proactive Market Engagement: Stay ahead of industry trends, seasonal planning cycles, and shifting shopper behaviors, bringing forward-looking podcast and talent solutions to clients before RFPs are issued.
  • Consultative Selling: Translate CPG and Retail client objectives - brand awareness, product launches, seasonal campaigns, and shopper intent - into high-impact campaigns using Vox Media podcasts, host talent, video, social, and live event capabilities.
  • Category Fluency: Leverage and expand working expertise in the CPG and Retail advertising landscape, contributing insights that help shape sales strategy and strengthen client proposals.
  • Revenue Accountability: Manage your pipeline with rigor, maintain accurate forecasting, and consistently deliver against quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with editorial, marketing, creative, production, and operations teams to develop culturally resonant proposals that speak directly to how CPG and Retail brands connect with consumers.
  • Brand Representation: Represent the Vox Media Podcast Network at relevant industry events, CPG and Retail conferences, and client meetings to grow our presence within those communities.
WHO YOU ARE
  • Experienced Media Sales Talent: 5+ years of digital media and/or podcast & talent sales experience, with focus and success in CPG and/or Retail categories. This is a NYC based role.
  • Relationship Builder: Comfortable cultivating relationships with brand-side marketers and agency teams, with a track record of growing accounts through trust and consistent delivery. Ability to develop strong relationships and trust with internal partners that are critical to delivering revenue and successful client partnerships.
  • Podcast & Talent Enthusiast: Familiarity with the podcast and talent advertising landscape - editorial and talent integrations, multi-platform partnerships, scaled podcast buys - and a genuine excitement for the medium.
  • CPG & Retail Insider: A strong understanding of how CPG and Retail brands plan and buy media, with an appetite to deepen that expertise and become a category authority.
  • Entrepreneurial Self-Starter: Energized by a fast-paced environment, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and motivated to grow your book of business independently.
  • Clear Communicator: Strong presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor a compelling narrative for brand and agency audiences at multiple seniority levels. Ability to think critically, connect advertiser needs to the right show and talent and communicate the value proposition with clarity and confidence.
  • Data-Informed: Able to use audience insights, performance data, and category trends to build persuasive, results-oriented proposals that demonstrate the value of podcast and talent investment.

PAY TRANSPARENCY
The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. In addition to a competitive base salary, this role may also include a discretionary bonus.

$110,000-$120,000 USD
