Description:

Immanuel Christian School is seeking a JV Boys Basketball Head Coach for the 2026–2027 season. We are looking for a qualified coach with strong basketball knowledge who is passionate about developing student-athletes while preparing them for future success at the varsity level.


The head coach will serve as the leader of the junior varsity boys basketball team and will be responsible for establishing a culture that emphasizes teamwork, discipline, growth, and excellence. The ideal candidate will be committed not only to success on the court but also to mentoring young men and helping them grow in character and faith.


In addition to leading the JV team during the season, the head coach will demonstrate a commitment to player development while working closely with the varsity coaching staff to create continuity within the basketball program and prepare student-athletes for future opportunities at the varsity level.

Requirements:


Primary Responsibilities


* Lead and manage all aspects of the JV boys basketball program

* Develop and implement practice plans that emphasize skill development and basketball fundamentals

* Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, and accountability

* Work collaboratively with the Athletic Director and Varsity Head Coach

* Support and encourage student-athletes in their academic, athletic, and spiritual development

* Assist in creating continuity between the JV and varsity levels of the program

* Help prepare student-athletes for future success within the varsity basketball program


Qualifications and Requirements


* Prior basketball coaching experience required; high school coaching experience preferred

* Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, player development, and team systems

* Ability to lead, mentor, and build meaningful relationships with high school student-athletes

* Strong organizational and communication skills

* Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Immanuel Christian School

* Willingness to invest in the growth and development of student-athletes throughout the season
