WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
On a day-to-day basis, you will work with a wide range of internal partners, including Product Designers, Graphics Designers, Material Designers, Developers, Product Merchandisers, and Product Line Managers. You will partner with the Expression Design Director to plan and execute color designs while strategically applying palettes across a broad range of products.
You will also connect and collaborate with cross-functional design partners within and beyond Accessories to create a cohesive head-to-toe system.
This position does not have any direct reports and will report into the Accessories Expression Design.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for an Expert Designer, Accessories Color to bring experience, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills to help shape the future of Accessories Color Design. The ideal candidate will elevate the Nike consumer product experience through both the art and science of color, confidently navigating ambiguity and defining new opportunities within a growing business. This person is flexible, adaptable to changing priorities, and capable of driving an emotional connection to Accessories through narrative, storytelling, and tool creation.
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic, Apparel, Fashion, Product Accessory, Footwear, Material or Textile Design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 8 years of progressively technically challenging color design experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Macintosh computers using Photoshop, Free Hand and/or Illustrator
  • Knowledge of CAD programs, preferably in Mac environment
  • Understanding of color trends, color mixing, color compatibility, and color placement
  • Knowledge of product design and development process
  • Familiarity with product manufacturing processes including: materials/fabrics; plastics; pigments
  • Strong verbal, written, visual, and high-profile communication skills in local market language, including meeting facilitation and presentations
  • Ability to understand challenges or underlying concerns, share ideas and develop effective responses or elevate to higher management
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
  • Ability to network, influence and utilize internal and external resources
  • Ability to articulate how color can affect product and sales

As the Expert Designer, Accessories Color, you will bring trend-relevant, narrative-driven concepts to life across product and collection creation. In this role, you will drive product excellence by connecting design, development, and manufacturing. Through research and a deep understanding of consumer needs, you will stay at the forefront of color trends across fashion, art, design, and sport. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional color designers, as well as footwear and apparel color designers, to create holistic head-to-toe systems and amplify seasonal concepts.
