Director Patient Care Medical Surgical Unit VI (6N)

We are seeking an accomplished Director Patient Care Medical Surgical  Unit VI (6N) to advance our mission of delivering innovative, compassionate nursing care. This pivotal role provides strategic, operational, and fiscal leadership for the Medical Surgical Unit, ensuring patient-centered experiences for those treated on Unit. As the Director Patient Care Medical Surgical Unit VI (6N), a typical day may include:

  • Directing daily operations of Medical Surgical Unit VI (6N), including scheduling, patient flow, and facilities management to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality care.
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating policies and procedures to meet regulatory, accreditation, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Leading multidisciplinary teams - including registered nurses, pharmacists, and ancillary staff - by fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
  • Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators related to patient satisfaction, throughput, and clinical outcomes; leveraging data to drive quality and process improvement.
  • Overseeing budget development and financial stewardship, optimizing resource allocation without compromising care quality.
  • Championing patient and family engagement through transparent communication, education, and advocacy.
  • Participate in system-wide nursing planning and represent Medical Surgical Unit VI within institutional committees and community partnerships.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have an active New Jersey RN license and a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Nursing. A Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred.  A minimum of 3-5 years’ acute nursing experience with 1-2 years of nursing leadership experience. ACLS and BLS certification through the American Heart Association
